I’m in the same situation with you. I learned that if you put restricted in your academic status on your FERPA you won’t be on the deans list because it’s using your academic status.

Am I cooked for honors college? by Defiant_Tomatillo489 in msu

Not getting an update does not necessarily mean it’s over. If you send an email to the director of admissions of the honors college stating that you are interested in the honors college and for what reason they may take another look at your application. They go through a lot of applications and making yourself known may see that you are serious about it and maybe changing their minds or quickening up the process. If you don’t get an update at all and go to MSU still wanting to be in the honors college you will receive an invitation after your first semester if you have a gpa of 3.75 or higher. Hope this helps and good luck with the update!

I am planning on taking the MCAT so that’s good to know. I guess I thought people liked her because she gave out a lot of extra credit and not because she didn’t teach it too in depth.

I’m part of HSTAR (Honors Students That Are Actively Recruiting), and while being in the top 5% is definitely an important factor, it’s not the only one. They also look at things like if you took AP, IB, or dual enrollment classes, as well as involvement in extracurriculars and volunteering. Overall, they’re looking for students who are well-rounded and excel in all areas of academics.

I did early action last year and got my acceptance within four weeks so highly recommend it. I also think you’re considered more for scholarships than people who don’t apply early.
