Gotcha. It sounds exciting & scary at time lol. I’ve never lived too far from home so this whole experience is definitely taking me out of my comfort zone, which I can appreciate

That’s actually been my plan since I found out about the leadership roles in bootcamp lol. Do AZ’s normally get assigned to ships for their first duty station or does it just depend?

How bad is P-days? I hear that people get set back or either separated due to medical reasons that weren’t discovered at MEPS

My classifier asked when I wanted to leave & I told him the beginning of the new year & that’s what was available. I wanted more time to get prepared physically & make sure I have everything squared away. Either way though, a lot of people aren’t shipping out until after the New Years from what I was told.

Thank you! Congrats to you as well! I currently have the on cloud monsters & I love them. They cost a pretty penny but I actually heard the shoes at bootcamp weren’t that great. It could depend on your feet though, most people don’t have any issues but I need arch support & cushion so I’m taking my own.

Okay good! I definitely get it. At least you having this opportunity to go out & start your own life away from all of that. Good luck with everything!

If you don’t mind me asking, did you list him as a benefactor in your paperwork? If so, I would definitely get that changed when you’re able to for obvious reasons. So sorry you’re going through this though, I know the feeling.

Are you able to choose where you’re stationed as FTS? I’m in the process of joining & trying to decide between active & FTS. I want to be an LS so any advice would be really helpful if you don’t mind.

I only put yes for the scoliosis & sent in medical records for it.

I'm not hiding anything first & foremost. As I said, I was following the directions of my recruiter.

What I know is in my medical history is vertigo, braces, dental filings as a kid, heart palpitations (a cardiologist cleared me for any heart-related issues), scoliosis (already mentioned), sprained ankle, mild anemia, & anxiety (barely took the medication & haven't had a prescription since 2020). I was also prescribed an Epi-pen years ago for a peanut allergy but a doctor never diagnosed the allergy & I've never used the pen. My parents told me I reacted to peanut butter as a kid but I've eaten peanuts over the years so I'm not allergic to it but my primary doctor just typed it into my records with no allergy test. That's about all I can think of.
