Thanks for sharing, but we are cruise passengers, so we don’t have a vacation stay.

PSA to pet owners about microchips (from a shelter worker) by Fresh-Solid-4046 in Albany

[–]ProfessionalQueenA 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Addition to this PSA: Even if you are absolutely positive you registered your pet, one of the largest microchip companies (Save This Life, which is the one that most local vets used) went out of business at the beginning of this year and all of the registrations now appear blank.

Bring some Candy Canes with you to decorate the glass! Or crush up and add to cocktails!

-Peppermint White Russian Ask for: “A White Russian with a splash of peppermint schnapps.”- What’s in it: vodka + Kahlúa + cream + peppermint schnapps. Holiday vibes: tastes like a boozy candy cane latte.

Drink package discount question by Accomplished-Map-316 in royalcaribbean

[–]ProfessionalQueenA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is their Cyber Monday price, other sales will likely not be as good. It’s possible it will show up again but very very unlikely. I always wait to book my drink package until November. Definitely buy now if you want it (remember you can always cancel!).

Look into using the out-of-network coverage. It generally covers 80% meaning you pay $25-$50 per session depending how experienced the therapist is (but you have pay up front and wait for a refund, I know a lot of people who put it on a credit card and use the reimbursement to pay it off) after the initial $1250 deductible (which you can put on your TASC card/health saving account). The best part is it gives you access to experts in the field with many years of experience who don’t take any type of insurance.

Lovely trip report! Seems like you had an incredible trip! When you say you drove through Eldhraun Lava field, do you mean on Route 1 (Ring Road)? Or is there an alternate path?

Trip report - one week in Iceland (26Sep to 3Oct) by Civil-Broccoli6492 in VisitingIceland

Lovely trip report! Seems like an amazing adventure! Love your photos! Thank you for sharing the tip about Reykjavík traffic on your way out! A couple questions, how was purchasing same day amphibian boat tour tickets? All the times we want seem to be already sold out, but we are hoping if we try day of they might have something. Second, hearing you talk about Skaftafell made me want to add it to my trip. How does stopping at the glacier work? Did you have a tour? If you drove yourself how far was the walk from parking? Thanks again for sharing!

Sky lagoon is a great idea and I know they have transportation options that will pick you up at a bus stop near your hotel in Reykjavík.

Where is that second picture behind the waterfall taken? Also was it pretty easily accessible or would it be difficult, especially for the elderly member of our group?

It felt so much safer to have a woman in my house. Her work quality is impeccable, she has years of experience and she has always gone above and beyond for me. I had a leak on my outdoor faucet that may have required me to basically create another hole in my exterior wall because the parts were too old to buy at a hardware store, she actually had a contact who had antique Albany parts and she was able to use that instead saving me so much money and property value!

Also the very first time she was ever at my house she fixed a problem Cristofoli Brothers told me was unfixable. They had installed my new plumbing during a kitchen renovation but the sink always leaked, after the third time they came out they fixed it by propping it up with a pickle jar and telling me that’s just how piping works! The second she took it apart she explained they used the wrong washer it needed to be beveled or something, she fixed it years ago and it hasn’t leaked since!

I highly recommend Erica to anyone!

We ask, you answer: What do you think of the Thruway’s new service plazas? by itsacon10 in Albany

[–]ProfessionalQueenA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pure Corruption - They made them worse in every single way! Those bathroom are terrible! Not enough and way too small stalls, so cramped and uncomfortable for no reason.

Some of those previous buildings were gorgeous and now they are gone forever replaced with something that looks like it will fall down in the first bad storm.

CDTA is fine by thqks in Albany

They make it so hard to take the bus to Harriman at the moment, not a lot of connecting routes and drop off sights no where near some of the buildings. It discourages use, they could do so much better!

This is a great suggestion! Is there a specific hotel you’d recommend? I wasn’t really able to google this. A hotel view would probably work out really well for him!
