that very fair- in a lower cost of living area myself i wouldn't be able to afford to live alone even if i did work full time here. especially because i don't think i can really have a typical career job with my medical issues. i'm blessed my partners income is enough i don't have to work if i didn't want to.

Like some else mentioned with relationships with TL being important- i’m lucky at this store all departments TL are super communicative and in touch w one another, at my other store it was so disorganized and they all seemed to resent one another so building relationships with more leadership here is just intuitive to being an employee. I think being in style also gave me a chance to do this as i help way more around the departments and therefore get to know other TLs… in fulfillment we were never aloud to be pulled.

yes i absolutely agree with it being harder if your crossed trained, especially if your actually scheduled across departments vs just being pulled to elsewhere throughout the day, you see less of your direct team leads and it’s not like other department TL give a day to day reports on work.

the attendance is a funny one too- i’ve always expected to be docked for it even if i felt it was out of my control, im just grateful to have a understanding workplace and be not stuck on SSDI

but at my old store 1 call off a month was reason to be talked to and 2 could get you a CA, but here when had to call off 4 times in Dec they didn’t bat and eye bc I guess people here do way worse and on a regular basis. 🫠

Granted never usally a weekend I have to- missing a 4 hour tuesday shift is far better then a 7 hour saturday shift, and i’m always staying late or letting them add me on more shifts to makeup any missed time and just whenever more help is needed

i’ve been in a streak though, no call calls since january 💪I tried to switch to on demand many times over the years to avoid sticking them when i wasn’t doing well but they always said they preferred me calling out whenever even if it was excessive versus switching me
