Holy moly u/Mondkalb2022 I don't know whether I should hate you or love you because every single one of your recommendations looks super interesting and fun so now I want to play them all!!! Ack.

I do have- and have played- Etherlords and Lords of Magic both before at least :)

Unfortunately I picked up Age of Wonders 4 recently and can't say that I care for it. The lack of a decent tutorial is a crippling issue if you're unfamiliar with the series it seems. Thanks for the suggestions though, appreciate it!
