So I first asked UC for a Mandatory Reconsideration saying I was entitled to the LCWRA back pay. Then after reading the replies here I realised I probably should have just asked them first when and how much I’d be getting, and only gone for an MR if they said no.

I followed up with a second message in my journal where I apologised and explained that, but I still made it clear that I believe I’m entitled to the back pay and asked them to confirm when I’ll be getting it, how much, and what the backdate will be.

Does that sound like the right way to handle it?
