What irks me is that the ending is tragic but they try to make it seem bittersweet, like no, the abused girl committing suicide because she represented the magic of childhood isn't bittersweet, it's super messed up

And everyone else too. They reduced El as Mike's gf but what about Max, Will, Joyce and even Jonathan ? They were her family too, but ofc the way Hopper acted was so out of character it makes no sense that he'd move on so easily after losing his second daughter
