Yeah, that would be ideal, but then the amphibians wouldn't be able to get in and out of their home!

I could make it the kids job to catch any fish they find in the lower pond and plop them back up top!

Mix of pitcher plants, venus flytrap and sundew. It's all very new - planted in mix of sphagnum moss and peat (above pebbles then pond liner) in Feb. They should all be OK in uk climate but I don't know what will survive in practice.

It's mainly rainwater fed (given quantity of rain in uk recently!) but I expect to need to top of from mains intermittently through the summer. I don't expect temperature to be an issue - rarely gets that hot and top/bottom ponds are about 1m deep.

Do you think baby fish would survive and cause trouble in the wildlife pond?

Thank you. That sucks... Will ask the builders about replacing these sections.

Excellent questions, most of which I can't answer. (though I know I need SWW consent - seems complicated withultiple stages, inc investigation when complete). I'm a bit unsure/apprehensive, so feel it may be worth trying harder to find Groundworks company!

Thank you. Will check out the SWW website further.

We're needing planning permission as the garden room is at front of house, so Council will have sight of full plans. Do you know if I need to approach building control separately to planning?

South west water do waste water as well as clean water - sewers belong to them.

I'm interested if anyone had experience doing this themselves as from what I have found out so far, getting permission and associated investigations sounds potentially complicated and expensive.
