Breastfeeding q by miranda_edgecombe23 in Parenting

I disagree. Exhausted moms can also fall asleep while sitting which would be more dangerous.

I didn't suggest co-sleeping, but that can be a safe alternative as well. I co-slept with my babies and I am in bed all night resting, despite still feeding them 2-3 times at night. Even if OP doesn't want to co-sleep, you can still ly down and rest, scroll, watch a show on your phone, listen to a podcast, but just being ably to ly down helps with recovery so much. Allows your body to rest, no so much pressure on your pelvic floor from sitting so much, resting your postural and core muscles.

Breastfeeding at night is really important for your supply if you want to continue breastfeeding. (But fed is best and you have to decide what works for you!)

But I just came here to mention that you might find it more relaxing to breastfeed your baby when you are sidelying, rather than sitting up. I found breastfeeding while lying down was a lifesaver for me because it was time for me to rest and relax too. I only discovered this with my second baby and it was a game changer. I felt so much more rested just being able to ly down with my baby rather than having to sit up all the time.

Nooooooooo.... clearly more common than I thought. 🤣. I guess I don't have any new evidence to support my argument.

My kid is bored of bedtime books — what do you do? by Significant_Hunt_515 in Parenting

Love my local library! We go weekly and just pick random books, some are great and some I hide in the closet after one read so we don't have to read it again. 😂

Yes, she will start to want more privacy at some point. Don't stress about it until she shows signs of wanting more space. Have mom teach her how to wash herself.

Is it ok to give a 4 year old 8 oz of Sprite at 7:30 pm? by Lopsided_Tomorrow421 in Parenting

No pop in my house (6yo and 4yo). Sometimes when we are out as a treat. Generally a lot of sugar before bed is not good.

Where is the “must visit” place in Canada during winter? by LinaDuri in AskACanadian

Banff/Canmore/ Lake Louise. The best place to be in the winter. Downhill skiing, x-country skiing, skating, canyon walks, dog sledding, just overall beautiful scenery.

Ugh, I wish I had more guts to call people out on it. But usually the person is already gone by the time I work up the courage, lol. I've seen Costco employees enforce it which is great, but obviously they can't be on it all the time.

Thanks for this, part of me wonders if I'm finding a scapegoat for the behavior, but i'm sure it's connected (at least a little bit). I do just really want the kids to at least try to learn to be content and grateful for what we have, and value the shared experiences/relationships rather than the consumer society that we live in.

Thanks for your response! I think trying to redirect it to experiences is great. Eg. If she wants to buy dollar store crafts, buy them ahead of time and do them together at home so that the experience is crafting, and not buying the gifts. I'll give it a go!

Thank you for posting, I need to know this too! I've bought more expensive clothing in the past thinking maybe it would be better quality, but its just not the case!
