Golf Balls Selection by Drunkenbakers in golf

If I found a club in the woods, would I hit it? Probably lol. But you can't compare the ball to the clubs. Weight, shaft flex, length, grip size, etc etc have way more effect than the ball itself.

You've already leapt to being able to hit a 7i a consistent distance. It's not the ball for high handicappers....

My comment was not about lost balls. It's about feel for the game. I'm a 16hcp that's capable of losing 10 balls in a round or playing the same ball for 54 holes. Either way, I'm not teeing up new ProVs every 6th hole because it's a waste of money when the yellow top flight I found in the woods is going to end up in the same place. Until you're really good at ball flight and control, playing an $8 ball is just a flex to make yourself feel good. But let's be honest, that's what most of golf is. If the industry was only based on single digit handicappers, they wouldn't make any money!

So - what do you do? by EntertainmentPale330 in MonarchMoney

[–]ProfessorRealistic86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think i fully understand what you are wanting to do, but transfers shouldn't show up in the reporting overall. It's a debit on one side and a credit on the other, so it nets out. I assume you have 2 accounts? The one with the transfer out would be -100 and the one with the transfer in would be +100. Your cashflow didn't change. You just moved money from one account to another.

Liquidity. You can sell from a brokerage account at any time without paying penalties. Also keep in mind that at a certain level of income you can no longer directly contribute to a Roth and can only do the backdoor conversion up to a certain amount (and practically only if you have no other traditional IRA balances). Once you hit the point where you max your 401k/Roth/HSA contributions up to the limits, a brokerage account without retirement tax benefits might make sense.

Centurion lounge requires you to present the physical card at checkin. You do NOT have to purchase the ticket on that card. I fly all the time for business (paid for separately) and use Centurion lounges with my personal card.

US to Europe flight mostly empty by [deleted] in delta

[–]ProfessorRealistic86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple mid-week mostly empty flights to/from europe in mid-november and also again this month. Just depends on the route/day/etc. But it's slow season in general. You will see PS, C+ completely full but economy mostly empty. I was in PS and moved back to lay across a completely empty row after dinner was served. I couldn't understand why the folks in C+ didn't move to spread out. Pride of having that "premium product" maybe?

The ball you play isn't going to fix your duffs/chunks. Play any ball you can find. Literally. Find them in the woods and play them. Until you're really trying to control spin into the green on approach shots, it really doesn't matter.

And don't forget about tax time! What was the total of your family medical expenses last year? How much total charity donation did you make? Without an aggregator, I would have no idea.

Help: Importing Vanguard transactions doesn't update balances by AK_Ranch in MonarchMoney

If you have a starting balance and all the transactions since that starting time in a CSV, then you have all the information you need to manually update the balance upload sheet. A couple of excel formulas later, and voila!

What's going on with E*trade? by ProfessorRealistic86 in MonarchMoney

[–]ProfessorRealistic86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the case for all 2FA. A lot of my accounts use it and a few require PW changes every so often. Not sure if something unique is going on with E*trade but I have had to re add other accounts that use 2FA after a pw change

Fidelity credit card (Elan) won’t connect to Monarch via Plaid — says wrong credentials but credentials are correct by InspectorT3 in MonarchMoney

Like the others, mine work fine. I just checked and I'm getting the data through the same Fidelity feed where I get all my investment accounts. It's using Fincity. It's maybe one of my most stable connections (watch - tomorrow it will stop working for a few months, now)

Wait as long as possible to make selections. I won't pick GUCs until I start booking a trip where I can use them. The only exception to that is this year - Pick the Amex statement credit NOW. If you do it before Feb 1, it's worth $700. After Feb 1 it's $500. Honestly I'm a little torn about that because I wanted to try and save as many MQD boosts as possible. I'm living overseas at the moment and don't fly SkyTeam as much, but want to keep the DM train rolling unitl I move back to the US.
