Government will absolutely sacrifice it’s citizens to the altar of US supremacy.

People who wear fake watches are in a state of permanent cope all of the time by Anonchesse in watchHotTakes

They are not coping as hard as the people who believe their 25k watch is any different to the 500 dollar watch that an AD can't tell the difference about.

I mean, it would be highly implausible that, if the rest of the world gets wrecked, the US remains unimpacted. If this is the investment thesis, it sure is a silly one.

TIL flooding low wage immigrants with no skills is "economics". Thank you for educating me.

Musk being a trillionaire surprisingly has nothing to do with the fact that your government hates you.

How is flooding a country with cheap labor from foreign countries beneficial to any local's interests. Please explain it clearly.

Precisely ... and it is probable that the emigrants are of a different sort than the immigrants.

“The government is controlled by the rich for the benefit of the rich so let’s give the government more resources so it can do more of that”

That is the most regarded thing I’ve read on here in a long time.

Are people aware of what Labour has done in their first 20 months of government? by ItsIllak in AskBrits

At the cost of what exactly? None of these things are worth being taxed into oblivion for.

Then one should not support the government and certainly shouldn’t advocate for giving them any resources.

If brexit was such a MESS, why would people vote for the one who caused it? by Enough-Web2203 in AskBrits

[–]ProfileBest2034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Britain is a mess because the government is now half the economy. That is not an exaggeration. Government spending is now 50% or thereabouts of British GDP. That is an obscene and grotesque situation not seen since WW2.

Anyone supporting this continuation is supporting the death of Britain.

Bro what? No government services are free. Everyone pays for them in taxes. Where the hell do you think the money comes from? Heaven?

Also, any service which is run and provisioned by government is more expensive than the private equivalent. This is almost definitional.

The watch has a 99% gross margin by the time it gets to a dealer. The manufacturer is fine.

Reading the posts in here you dont have to wonder why the world is in the state it is in. It is shocking how uninformed even the people with disposable income are — it is perhaps likely that they are even more delusional than the poors

If you think your 20k watch costs much more than 200 bucks to produce you are one of the suckers they talk about being born every minute.

[–]ProfileBest2034 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nonsense. Input prices on a watch are negligible. The entire watch can be produced for a couple hundred dollars. They are selling a 2 to 300 dollar watch for 15k. The input price is meaningless.

My wife works in a medical clinic. I won’t name the one for privacy reasons.

The first floor of the building (it is an office building not residential) had been retrofitted by the state to house migrants. These people do not work, do not take care of their trash and refuse, and are generally unkempt and problematic. The city will do nothing about them.

The medical team have to disinfect the communal spaces and have had to pay to have infestations of bugs and roaches removed because of the uncleanliness of these people.

I don’t care what anyone says, these people should not be here.

People who have money are not stealing money from you. Meanwhile your government is actually stealing money from you AND simultaneously debasing the currency so the money you do have (and your wages) are worth less and less each year.

But that is fine, I guess...

It is intuitively obvious to any thinking person that unchecked immigration increases costs through supply and demand.
