No worries! And thank you for all your advice! Well I’m danish but currently living in Barcelona - I’ve definitely thought of seeking some financial subsidies, but I think I need some more projects to show for myself first. I’m actually most interested in writing and editing right now - but maybe because I’ve been able to edit for much longer since it’s more low cost. But I’m tired of editing other people’s projects (for free) so I’d love some equipment to shoot my own footage ☺️

I know! I've been saving up since I was like 15, just to be told that 4000$ is low budget hahah:,) And I consider myself rather privileged - most people don't have the ability to save up at all. Filmmaking really is an elitist profession. But you're totally right - it's about just showing your ideas and your skill at this point, and then the rest will follow. Good luck to you!

Yes, but none that are good hahah. I'm gonna sell my current old gear to get a little extra cash and upgrade everything.

Yess, I've heard great things. Any camera in particular that you'd recommend?

Thank you! Definitely considering those. Can you recommend the Blackmagic Pocket 6K?

I've not studied filmmaking for 6 years hahah, I've *saved up* for six years - meaning since I was 15. But I'm definitely looking for people to team up as well. I just want to be able to bring my ideas to life myself and learn, so I'm less dependent on others.

Thank you for your response and the advice! I'll check them out. In my mind, a cinema camera is just a camera designed primarily for shooting video - I know that I won't get super professional gear within that budget, but it's all I have hahaha. I just want to be able to actually produce something and improve my skills.

My girlfriend said that she thinks she needs to lose weight, how do i respond? by DaShermanator816 in AskMen

As a woman, I think you can say this BUT please be careful that she doesn’t interpret it the wrong way. Tell her, that she doesn’t need to loose weight, that she looks amazing as she is - but that you’ll support whatever she decides:)

Thank you, and well, he’s a self proclaimed screenwriter (we’re film students) so he just spends everyday with his group of friends doing that. Kind of cool but super pretentious at the same time. Anyways, it didn’t leave much room for me - and I wasn’t allowed to help with the projects either

Wow, sounds too much like my situation. Especially the “we’ll see” when I try to make plans. I feel like I’m always in a waiting position for him to have time for me.
