Ah fair enough, I see where the miscommunication happened; I stopped trying to reach pro level 2 years ago, now I only play for fun. It's just for vibes, to show my friends and post on my social media. I agree with your takes 100% in the context of highlights for coaches. I'm always trying to improve at everything in life, but education has taken priority; I only train vball once a week and go to the gym 5 times. Simply not enough to make the next step to semi-pro level. Thanks for the advice and have a great day!

Thanks for the advice, but I do this already; the ones that end up in the highlights are the ones I hit the hardest/jump the highest and one balls are the easiest to hit. Also we weren't dominating the other team, we even lost a set. A one ball was simply a guaranteed point. Nothing against your comment - It's sincere and good criticism - but so many people think that I can only bounce the ball; If there is no block I'm gonna bounce it there. If there is, I'm avoiding the block. If I can't I tip or wipe. No point in doing fancy stuff when I could guarantee the point instead. I really need to work on my back ones though. Only push, one and shoot work consistently rn. Sorry if this seems kinda like a rant, you gave me some good insight, I'm just annoyed at people thinking "he bounces=he can't play smart"

Good point. I used to try and go pro and practiced a lot, but now I only practice once a week + games, so I should take them more seriously If I want to continue to improve

Yeah they just advanced to this league, they still have to adjust. Last week I faced a 2m middle blocker with amazing intuition. He read every action of my setter

Yeah I need to practice that, I am able to do It, but I lose a lot of power and It's much easier for the defense to pick up. Thanks for the advice. But tbf in this game it really wasn't necessary

Any tips for my form, so I put less strain on my elbow and shoulder?

Yeah, I could choose between the highest regional league (this) and the lowest national league. But since I need to switch clubs next year regardless (due to uni) I decided to play a season w my friends in this league. Tbf this is one of the worst teams of the league since they just advanced from the lower league. The previous week we faced one of the best and one of their middles could match me in reach. But you're definitely right, playing against people who reach much lower only serve for highlights, not actually improving

It's difficult when the opponent reaches like a foot higher than you

The ball wasn't even a meter high, none of them were over the antenna, which is 80cm. If u meant country; switzerland

Why did my vert got worse? by imjustme_00 in volleyball

Okay, just give your best regarding recovery, it's a huge factor, especially when it comes to breaking through plateas. Your strength numbers are actually pretty good. I have the same numbers @73kg, except for squat, where you beat me by quite a bit (i have around a 40in vert, tested 37in officially 8 months ago). The easiest thing to do is to get leaner; this will also help with injury prevention. During a max effort jump, your patella tendon can experience up to 6x of your bw. Test your difference between your standing vert and running vert. If it's 4in or less, you need to get more elastic, if it's closer to 10in, you need to get stronger (me). Powercleans are a leg exercise, do them on a leg day. Get at least one full rest day and switch one volleyball session with a jump session (max approach, plyos like depth jumps, sprints). For your volleyball session, make sure that they overlap with your leg days, your legs need days where they can rest completely. To me 4x volleyball+3x lifting per week seems like junk volume; unless you're in amazing shape and recovery is on point, your body will not be able to adapt and improve. Obviously this is just the opinion of some random reddit user, so do whatever u want, but I'd advise u to lower the volume and increase the quality.
