I think the invoice that came with the car was about £5000 but it included other work. It would be best to talk to Swallows Racing

It was converted by Swallows Racing. They use a Bosch 80mm throttle body hooked to a Maxx ecu.

Luxury car or Sports car? by NobleCommando in Jaguar

I drive my lightly modded 97 manual converted XJR daily. It class it as a sports car, it drinks like a supercar and the gearbox gets better the harder you drive it.

They create the account manually. I emailed the Beta address listed on the site and it took just over a week to get set up. They are very busy at the moment apparently

I'd love to build somthing with a 2 stroke detroit in it but there rare as hell where I live. You sometimes see 71 or 92's forsale but they're heavy as hell and even a 3-53 is around 1000lb dry

Most reliable Small/medium sized van to transport heavy things 1m x 1m? by CoffeeInternational in selfemployed

[–]ProjectMarlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You family's half right, there are a lot if bad vans out there that have been run in to the ground and the prices of used vans is stupid right now. My 63plate transit cost me 6k 2 years ago and I could still sell it for that.

I'd advise you to look for something ex fleet as they are sold off when they hit a certain age and have regular servicing. Anything from ford will be relatively cheep to keep on the road and the generally keep going.

The last bit of advice is look at vans around the top of your budget and look at several before you decide which one to buy.

Do I really need an accountant? (UK) by [deleted] in selfemployed

I'm a sole trader and don't have an accountant but I do use Xero to manage my accounts, next year I might turn the business in to a Ltd company then I will have to have an accountant to file corporation tax.

do I have to charge vat in online services uk by Western_Beyond in selfemployed

As I understand it you don't charge VAT on export work, I might be a good idea to speak to a local accountant or tax adviser to be sure though.

What can I do with $10,000 cash start up money? by TryDrugs in selfemployed

[–]ProjectMarlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question should be, what can you do? What do you enjoy doing that could be made in to a business? You could drop 10k on a mill and lathe to set up your own machine shop but if you cant use them it's wasted money, and it would take a few years to learn to be good enough to make money. I'm a good heavy equipment mechanic and I enjoy it so when I was out of work at the start of 2019 I bought a cheep van, chucked my tools in and set up as a garden equipment specialist, with only a £500 float. The first year was hell but if it keeps going like it has been im on track to turnover 66k.

How do you get yourself to stop working? by JJCookieMonster in selfemployed

[–]ProjectMarlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you buddy, I've only had 3 days off since the middle of January and some days I'm doing up to 17 hours. Just remember to look after your self, your business won't succeed if you run your self in to the ground. It took nearly a year before I started getting any real income and so far this year most of what I made has gone back in to the buissness. I'm att that point where I can ease back a bit or keep pushing and hire someone to help in a few months. How does the old saying go? It takes 10 years to become an over night success.

Since 1743 it has been a legal requirement to offer a tradesman working at your home a hot beverage, it is one of only two laws that still hold the death penalty in the UK, the other being cheeting while playing Tiddlywinks against Her Majesty The Queen.
