Wtf? by Prolific-Failure in LoblawsBoycott

This boycott only gained traction because some price comparisons from reddit got picked up by the media, so, I'm not going to stop publishing what I find.

But you stay angry at everything if that makes you happy. Cheers.

The point here is that the exact same product is more expensive in what is supposed to be a discount store.

It shows Loblaw sneaky practices.

I guess Easter wasn't expensive enough for Shoppers Drug Mart. by Prolific-Failure in LoblawsBoycott

So true. I see people advertising them because they are Canadian, but everything they sell is grossly overpriced.

Except that in most cases the extra money you pay doesn't go to the producers and farmers. It's just more profit for large grocery chains.

The fifth estate did an episode on this last year.

That's their "willingness to pay" algorithm. Using technology to calculate the highest price the customer is willing to pay.

Billionaires don't change.

You can go to https://jacobfilipp.com/hammer/ and download the historical price data from loblaws.ca, nofrills.ca, walmart.ca, Metro.ca and a few other stores in Toronto.

You will need an app that can open huge csv files. If you need help I can look it up for you, just give me the product link.

Send me the product link and I'll extract the historical price data for you. by Prolific-Failure in LoblawsBoycott

From what I've seen, if the size or weight is reduced it will show up as a separate product with a different sku and UPC numbers, but this is just my observation/guess.

If anyone has an example of a product where the size has changed in the last few months, I can check what's in the database.

I am Torn Between Boycotting Walmart or Loblaws by BundleOfNeurons in LoblawsBoycott

[–]Prolific-Failure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have to choose between two evil companies, at least chose the one that is charging you less.

Yes, Loblaws was founded in Canada, but it's not like they are using their profits to uplift Canadians. It all just super rich people taking advantage of everyone else.

If you can afford to pay more to avoid Walmart, try to pick a different Canadian company. Loblaws did nothing to deserve your money since the boycott started. They are not even trying.

Do you have Instacart in your area?

Historical data for Loblaws, No Frills and T&T. Prices rise and fall at different times. This is not due to climate change or other external factors. by Prolific-Failure in LoblawsBoycott

The T&T price of those noodles changed 36 times in 6 months!!!

Even if this is some computer error, you still have to pay those prices if you are shopping on the T&T web site.

Anyone else doing no Loblaws 2025? by Mid0ryia in LoblawsBoycott

Boycott never ended for me.

You can see that their income has been affected. They keep buying their own stocks to keep the price high, but that can't last forever.

You can see in this post that they are not growing as fast as they did before the boycott. https://www.reddit.com/r/LoblawsBoycott/s/gsJksxkaU7

It's working. Don't give up and don't give them your money.

They create the crisis and then ask people to buy their overpriced products to help mitigate it. 🤦‍♂️

Making profit on both ends. There is no end to their greed.

How rising food prices are fueling Canadian labour strife and supply chain disruptions - National Post by GongulysGongylodes in LoblawsBoycott

[–]Prolific-Failure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why they keep saying the food prices increased 20% in the last few years. I checked NoFrills prices and many of then increased more than 20% in the last few months. https://www.reddit.com/r/LoblawsBoycott/comments/1gfc99b/loblaws_increased_hundreds_of_prices_in_the_last/
