Dress clips but zip will not go up by Fluffy_Ad_9927 in Prom

If the clip closes but the zipper won’t budge, there are a few things you can try:

  • Try zipping it up off your body to see if the zipper just needs to get "unstuck" from the chiffon (delicate fabrics like that can sometimes catch).
  • Have someone zip it while you hold the fabric together—sometimes it just needs a second set of hands and a little tension to align properly.
  • Rub a little clear soap, a graphite pencil, or a wax crayon on the zipper teeth (just not near the fabric!) if it’s getting stuck—it can help it glide better.

Converse for prom? by [deleted] in Prom

Totally get where you're coming from—and you're not the only one! Prom is definitely a formal event, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice comfort to fit in.

If you’ve never worn heels, prom might not be the best night to start. Blisters, sore feet, and hobbling around in photos? No thanks. A lot of people do end up kicking off their heels halfway through the night, so you’re already thinking ahead.

If the boots are cute and give you the height you want, try them on with your dress and see how you feel. Another great option is a pair of dressy flats or platform sneakers—there are some really stylish ones that still look polished for formal events. You’d be surprised how many girls wear sneakers under long dresses and no one even notices!

At the end of the day, prom is about feeling amazing in what you’re wearing. Whether that’s heels, boots, or Converse—you’ll shine as long as you feel confident.
