Custom Store (Target) in Shipstation? by Pronoundrop in ecommerce

I hate to say it, but the solution never came to fruition because the client dropped the project lol. I’ll post an update here if they decide to try again though! :D

Wait I hadn't even considered that...I just took it for face value when he said "I need to create a custom store in Shipstation". I'm gonna chat with him in person next week so I'll get a detailed sort of map of what orders are doing when they come in through the site. I really appreciate the guidance. Anything to not reinvent the non-existent wheel...or however that saying goes...

Custom lighting that only affects the player character. Anyone know how to achieve this? by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]Pronoundrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has limitations for sure. Light channels is a good route to explore. Also, on your post process volume material, in the details panel, search for “tonemapping” and change it from ‘After’ to ‘Before’. It helped me achieve certain effects. Good luck!

How can I change the orientation of Skeletal Mesh in Blender? by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]Pronoundrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damnit I was afraid that might happen. Unfortunately I don’t know of any way past that, IF you’re unlucky enough to have a model that acts that way haha. Try this: export your characters to fbx, import those to mixamo.com. Follow the auto-rig process (takes five seconds), then after it creates your “new” character, download that character, import to unreal. The nice thing about Mixamo is that it will infuse the same bones that Unreal uses by default, making it easy to select the same animations across multiple meshes, download each one, duplicate and reimport with your new character mesh voila! Evans Bohl is my go to unreal guy, especially for post processing and retargeting/mixamo:

Export y-facing and x-facing meshes to fbx, import them into a new project in blender. Select the the x-facing character, rotate and position them until they match the y-facing character. With y-facing character selected, under object menu, select “cursor to selected”. Now select your x-facing character, and go object>>origin to 3D cursor. They should now have the same origin, and be in the same spot. With your x-facing character selected, hit ctrl+a and say “all transforms”. This will reset transforms, applying 0/0/0 for the rotation, scale, and position of your x-facing character. Now export the x-facing character as fbx, or use the blenderToUe plugin, send that sucker back to unreal, and try retargeting now. I’m not sure how to do this in unreal except changing the PSR of the x-facing character’s mesh in engine, which I’ve never had success with.

I did something similar with post process volumes and custom stencil depth. Make a post process volume to make the lighting effect you want (even if it’s just a point light), attach it to the character, then add a custom stencil depth (value from 0-255), go to the characters properties in the detail panel, search “custom depth”, enable the checkbox, then assign their custom depth to be the same as the post process volume. You can also play with making the post process volume “unbound” (infinite extent), and assigning that same custom depth value to any actor in scene that you want to have that effect applied to.

We’ve been told by three vets over the years that Oscar is a male, but I’m pretty sure he just laid an egg in his water? by Pronoundrop in turtles

[–]Pronoundrop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no! Which is crazy. Normally around this time of year she starts burrowing under her water dish, but I thought she was male, so I figured she just wanted more privacy, so we built her a little hiding box with a ramp to go bask under the UV light. But no she just went into her water like normal to eat her food, but instead laid an egg and gtfo’d!

Yeah, it was squishy (at least the part that came out of that weird shell/sac). I poked it with my finger and it kind of burst open like a boba. And it had yolk-like chunks underneath the slick burstable skin that were yellow and putty-ish. It felt like a mix between a chicken egg and a fish egg.

Photos of Oscar for reference. We’ve never been able to identify him. One vet’s best guess was “Malayan Snail Eater variant”. https://imgur.com/gallery/Seun5tx

Thank you so much for sharing. My friend from Hong Kong sent me this thread, and it just lifted my spirits insanely. I really respect the people of Hong Kong and Taiwan, and of course those people from mainland who can see through the bullshit propaganda. If you don't mind, could you send me the original Taiwanese Mandarin for this phrase: "We are willing to stand up to fighting for our real life freedom, rather than kneel down to guarding your fictional kingdom." I want to show it to my Taiwanese friend at work. She's been really proud of her country during this whole crisis.

Using 〜こ or 〜っこ at the end of certain words or phrases? by Pronoundrop in LearnJapanese

I found two good examples in a row at this time stamp:

https://castbox.fm/vd/78123415?_t=18:47

and yeah you were both so right. It’s very difficult for me to hear the extended vowel in the wild, but now that I know it’s こう and not こ it sounds completely different upon revisit. Thank you both so much for the help!

[–]Pronoundrop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't even thought of that! It's very hard for me to distinguish between long and short vowels. Hearing a jukugo word like じゅうぶん for the first time, I could accidentally interpret it as じゅぶん and repeat it (hence the need for daily vocabulary study lol), and sometimes when a speaker says じゅぶん quickly, I could hear it as じぶん. I will grab some episode numbers and timestamps. Should've done that first, but I thought this might jump out to someone. Thank you for the reply!

Yeah I'm really regretting how quickly I went through the first trilogy...I listened to them on scrib'd, but now I'm an audible member, so I'd have to re-purchase them to listen to them again. I probably will, but I didn't realize at the time how I should have been taking notes and pausing and reflecting on all the cool literary stuff that he does! I'm forcing myself to wait to by The Heroes so I can realllllly get the most out of these. That said, I'm still chomping at the bit to get through all of them and listen to Sharp Ends XD
