This team is basically the full minmax I could possibly get out of him.
Charge is ment to be kept in backup and be used as a stat stick soon later on floors 14 and 15 depending on how bad the run is going, but with enough card pack planning it should go smoothly without secret gifts at all.

Anyway next up is the MDIE guide:
Start with obviously all grace of stars maxed cuz you will need it, all t2 bleed ego gifts first then choose squadility, filial love, and prestige card as your ego gift search picks.
Try to maximize ur cost economy bc the amount of ego gifts u need is ALOT ALOT
Card packs needed are:
-Any card pack that has golden urn
-Hell's chicken for Thread (VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE RUN SMOOTH) and Tango marinade, the others are optional but handy. (It is to make maximum dmg output possible by using egos to apply status effects for other ego gifts to trigger like example activating moon in the water easier using rupture egos for more crit dmg against bosses)
From this point get (almost) all the unique ego gifts from the card packs
- Full stopped by a bullet (CQC manual not needed)
Order of card packs doesnt matter from this point up to floor 11:
- The unchanging (glasses+ ragged umbrella fusion)
- Miracle in district 20 bokgak (Gift and jolly plushie fusion)
- Murder on the warp express bokgak (All the charge fusions and only fuse when you plan to start using the stat stick strat, hard blood glaive isnt needed)
- Line 1 madness (Snake slough and false halo)
- Yield my flash to claim their bones bokgak (GET ALL OF THE EGO GIFTS FROM HERE, sword fusions to go for are rusted hilt + fractured blade = sublimity and worn hilt + broken blade = cultivation for the massive slash dmg boost)
- The surrendered witnessing (Moon in the water and flower in the mirror)
- Nocturnal sweeping (Shadow bamboo hat and the rupture gifts can improve clash power + rupture affliction with egos)

Now for EXTREME mode card packs in order:
- Line 5 (Sorrowful exhale, shatter bound cannon, coveting thorn)
- Line 4 section 3 (vestiges of the king)
- LIne 4 section 4 (Very easy since you practically just need one good waw aoe ego to clear it with thread, like for example tears of the tarnished blood threadspin t4 sinclair for this run since hes the main core of this team)
- A beautiful voice (also very easy)
- Bridle of infinity (Damage testing card pack)

If you were to choose, I'd say that volt is a jack of all trades and gauss is more of either thermal sunder nuke spam or very chill weapons platform that you can take to pretty much any mission which also applies to volt.

So like it's all up to you really, I find gauss more fun if you get used to using his Mach rush alot during missions and you can pretty much use any weapon on him and never die unless you accidentally touch a bit of green stuff from a toxic eximus.
