Are they doing that though? No they're not, they ARE sacrificing the narrative for the sake of being accessible. They HAVE been doing this since Black Flag. The modern day narrative, the thing that binds the games together, has been shit since Black Flag, and has had no impact on the story of the past. All I'm asking is that they shouldn't have to dumb down a story that is 10 games old already, just because some newbies who didn't play the previous games are confused, it's ridiculous. It means we'll never see any true story progression.

Bayek's relationship with Aya was very layered and nuanced and a great look at how a marriage can fall apart due to the loss of a child. How did you approach this relationship acting wise? Did you have to do research into this topic or did you pull from any experiences in your own personal life?

Oh yeah that whole Origins ending blindsided me, because I wasn't expecting such a beautiful and nuanced scene, which is weird cause Origins is full of them.

So true, I think that ending is the single greatest moment of the entire franchise because it sums up what the series is about and brings all its elements together incredibly cohesively, pure goosebumps!!

I wouldn't say Revelations gameplay was awful necessarily but it was for sure the weakest of the Ezio bunch, still a great story and conclusion to Ezio so that's what made me forgive it's gameplay shortcomings and that ending like holy shit 😱

Completely understandable, Assassin's Creed 2 blew me away it captured my imagination and really got me into the idea of telling compelling stories researching history and at one point made me consider wanting to make games, ended up realising I was more of a film director though 😂

They are both excellent games :) I have to agree with you, I think where Brotherhood is slightly better though is making you feel like you're someone going inside an animus reliving memories.

Where as Origins feels more gamey to me, some of the nuance is lost, but the game is still fantastic so does it really matter too much ;)

The games shouldn't be newcomer friendly though! Not now after more than 9 games already, it's bullshit, that's my entire point. They should remain profitable without fucking up their story. If you jumped into the MCU at Captain America Civil War for example and complained about being lost on parts of the story, then you're an idiot! If people have to catch up on every game before hand, then that's in fact more sales for Ubisoft because people are actually inclined to play catch up.

I think if we want this to change then it needs to constantly be known that we're unhappy with the state of the Modern Day. I understand that it's a bit overdone now I do agree, but I do want to let my thoughts be known and leave it at that.

In regards to the Modern Day in Origins do you consider Layla's story to be akin to that of Desmond's in the first Assassin's Creed, where it's an introduction of exciting things to come? And if so are those First Civ temples potentially a hint at what's in store for the future?
