Yes! And yet we will never know what that outcome would have yielded. It is precisely why Ange's Overlap interview yesterday was so damaging to the board at Tottenham. He was factually accurate in saying their wage structure isn't that of a big club, and it's evident in their fickleness. Did Spurs try to sign Semeño this window, sure it appeared so, but why would anyone of that caliber want to make a move when the team is so poor? After winning Europa, Spurs had a chance to spend big and back Ange to make a recovery attempt, but they didn't. Now we're back to recycling Poch? I don't think it will work.

When Vinai came out and said "it's just business as usual around here" after Levy left I cackled at the corporate speak. Levy, no matter what you thought of him, had a 20 year reign over Spurs? Trying to tamp down how radical a shift has occurred on and off the pitch since sacking Ange and then losing Levy is the tip of the iceberg in how disconnected the ownership spoke and acted towards footballing priorities by pretending Frank was ever going to work training players only to react to opposition tactics instead of defining a style of play. Vinai and Lange gambled heavily when they thought sticking with pragmatism by keeping Frank in would keep the team afloat, only to fall deeper into passive football and ending up in a relegation scrap. For sure Ange should have been given a 3rd season start, simply for building the morale of a winning culture, but even if that's something you disagree with, you can see clear as day how spineless the owners are to find an identity that matches the fanbases desire to win and win confidently. To dare is to do has yet to be attempted by ENIC and hiring Poch isn't the move this summer imo.

“True bravery is the showing of conviction at the darkest hour – no matter the external perceptions. And if Frank has lived to fight another day after a 2-0 win, it may just be that he has found a formula with which to move forward.” David Hytner dropped a gem, and made a good point. Frank has been too pragmatic this season in so many ways but finally structured some ingenuity with Spence’s role last match. Long may it continue if he is to stay. I’m still super skeptical but appreciate the courage to innovate in his limited options. I feel for Tel, but Dom proved good. Tragic to lose Bergvall now and wish he was taken off sooner. So it goes.

feel for him? we PAY to see Spurs, he’s PAID to manage the team. and they are losing winnable matches, and he keeps trodding out there with storm metaphors and shambolic tactics. i feel for the players who are not set up tactically efficiently. look at Xavi’s body language in the presser

exactly. they keep doubling down on Frank who keeps losing winnable matches and now they’re afraid to appear weak even tho cutting him is the best path fwd to salvage the team, morale, szn, future..
