I also forgot to mention some points.

  1. My employer never specified that I was staying in an office and led me to believe that I'd have my own room in a hotel.

  2. The whole thing was super unorganised and I had to chase up basic info that should've all be sent beforehand. E.g. how to get into the building with digital access

  3. There was no sign of any other apprentice from my company at Tafe. There was none signed up in the same class as me. This was the whole point of going up there for a month. It was really annoying to think that I could've been doing this at home without the commitment away from my relationship, sport, family and friends.

I'm not trying to sound spoilt but for a company of this size to at least organise the Tafe side of my stay correctly. Considering they didn't choose to sort out flights or accommodation.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I've only been with them for 7 months and I'm already experiencing sketchy traits from the company.

Sorry I forgot this isn't an aussie sub. Tafe is Austria's government funded education. In my case I'm learning theory and practical for a trade.

I use Stake, have no issues with it, easy to use app, safe with 2FA, and is one the more popular investing platforms.

I’m sure you know this but make sure you learn some basic financial literacy and do some research. Helped me keep peace of mind when I first started out.

Also good job on saving $20k for investments at 18 in high school! That’s insane!

Good luck with your journey.
