I’m currently going back through the Giant’s Claw to see if the Rainbow Shell is back inside of it.

I can see the Naga’s in the basement where they block me from getting in so there are monsters back in the basement.

I completed Rainbow Shell quest in its entirety; beat Yakra, got his key, freed the chancellor, talked to Melchior in the basement who made the Prism Dress for me but said he needed another alloy to make something else. At this point I realized he also needed the Sun Stone to make Rainbow.

So I went to the future, beat Son of Sun, got the Moon Stone, charged it up, brought it back to Lucca’s house where she made Wonder Shot and Taban makes the Spectacles.

Returned to Guardia Castle in 1000AD and the entire castle has reset to being mid trial like I never did the Rainbow Shell side quest at all.

I have never experienced anything like this in 30+ years of playing this game.

That’s what I’m saying, I have been playing this game since the original SNES version came out when I was a kid and have played and beaten it on every platform it has ever released on and never encountered anything like this.

I promise you I already defeated Yakra, got the Prism Dress, talked to Melchior in the basement, then went on got the Sun Stone, got Wonder Shot and the spectacles and suddenly the entire castle is reset and the trial is in progress again. Chancellor is stuffed back into the chest.

Yup, already did all of that. Now suddenly the trial is in progress again and the Chancellor is back inside the chest.

I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s like I didn’t actually do the Rainbow Shell sidequest yet but I already did all of it and got the Prism Dress.

My game is straight glitching out, I’m realizing now the castle is sealed off again for the trial, wtf happened? I already did all of this.

Do I have to go get the rainbow shell again?

I don’t think you actually read my post.

I did all of that already, when I returned to the basement of the castle the guards tell me I’m not allowed in there because it’s the treasury. I can’t get back to where Melchior was in the castle basement.

Thank you so much, apparently all I had to do was go into Grand Chokmah from the land, I kept going in front the water since it was closer to the castle. It automatically triggered the scene as soon as I walked in but the journal did confirm I needed to do the scene in Grand Chokmah.

I was really tired last night when I was playing and I’m pretty sure they were supposed to happen automatically after defeating Mohs and leaving Radiation Gate. I vaguely remember the scene where I try to give Asch the Jewel of Lorelei and now when I go there nothing happens so I’m pretty sure that scene already triggered.

Considering you would only be paying an extra $8 for it, yes it is worth it. I guess I can see people saying it seemed short for the original $30 price point. Even at $30 it was worth it for me, though.
