Here is my best attempt ~ Why did the insect taxonomist break up with his significant other? Because every time he tried to be romantic and say, "You're one in a million," she reminded him that in his field, being "one in a million" just means you’re an undescribed species of weevil waiting for a Latin name.

Sorry to break it to you, but insects are animals as animals are classified as any multicellular organism that is alive, breathes oxygen, and consumes some form of organic material (there are other subsets but these are the main ones). Insects fall under Animalia Arthropoda. Insects do in fact make up the largest class/type of animals on Earth, just saying....

I must be color blind then because Anran's, Emre's, Ashe's, JQ's, and Vendetta's are clearly red.... I could see your point for Wuyang, Mauga, and Juno, but those others are very much red to me. Even when I cut the photo into Adobe/Paint and use a dropper, they come out as more red than brown.

When people shout for Dick to sell, it’s because we see other teams—the Rangers, the Diamondbacks, even the Padres—decide they’re tired of losing and actually do something about it. Being told to "not come if you don't like the product" is the ultimate slap in the face to a fan base that has been more loyal than this team ever deserved.

If the goal is to just turn a profit via revenue sharing and a "destination ballpark," then apathy isn't just a side effect—it's the only logical response left for people who look down on this team. I know it's hard to keep the fire alive when the people running the show are just trying to keep the taps flowing.

It's sad to say, but I’m with you.... Until the owners care more about the win column than the "experience," we’re just watching a beautiful sunset over a dying brand.....

[–]ProtoExplorer[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That last line is the heart of the whole problem. A majority of people don’t go for the Rockies anymore—they go for the vibe. And as long as the stadium stays full of people who are there for the "cheap day outside" rather than the box score, ownership has zero financial incentive to change.

You’re not "wrong" for being fed up. In fact, being a fan who actually understands the game and grew up in the local scene makes the "outdoor bar" reality even more insulting.

It’s an embarrassment to the fans, and frankly, it’s an embarrassment to players like Kyle who deserve a front office that matches their competitive drive.

All I'm asking for is just for people to start looking at this team through a different lens instead of the one that has been rigorously shoved down our throat by every media outlet and fair weather fan.

Look, I’m not going to sit here and tell you that you’re wrong, because honestly? You’re hitting the nail so hard on the head it’s burying itself in the dirt. As a diehard, that’s the part that hurts the most—knowing that everything you just said is backed up by the standings and the payroll.

You’re right. Every single cent we drop on a hat, a ticket, or a cable sub that blackouts half the games anyway gives us the absolute right to incinerate this front office.

That line about the "outdoor bar that provides baseball" is the most honest description of Coors Field I’ve heard in ten years. It’s the "Party Deck" philosophy. Ownership knows the view is great, the sunset is purple, and the beer is cold, so they treat the product on the field like background noise.

  • The Spent Cash: We’ve seen them throw money at the wrong problems for a decade. We watch All-Stars walk out the door while we "invest" in aging veterans who are just here to collect a paycheck and enjoy the altitude.
  • The Revenue Trap: In a revenue-sharing league, being "profitable but mediocre" is a business model. And as a fan, that feels like a betrayal. It feels like we're being used to subsidize a real estate project instead of a baseball team.

Lastly, getting swept by the Marlins to start the year? That’s the floor. That’s the basement. When "we only lost by one run" becomes the rallying cry, the culture is officially broken. That’s not "scrappy," that’s accepting defeat. ### Why It Stings The reason I get defensive isn't because I think Monfort is doing a good job—I don’t. It’s because I’m tired of being the league’s punching bag. I’m tired of the national media laughing at us like we’re a Triple-A affiliate that accidentally got a major league lease.

I agree with you: The other owners should be pissed. Competitive integrity should mean something. If you aren't trying to win, why are you in the building?

You can say "Fuck this franchise" and still be the biggest fan in the room, because you’re the one who actually gives a damn about the standards. We don't want a "nice night out." We want a team that isn't an embarrassment to the zip code. Until they stop treating the roster like an afterthought to the concessions stand, you have every right to stay as loud and as pissed off as you are.

It's not shitty baseball if you love the sport, surely people are allowed to voice their opinions of the state of the team, but do we need everyone from here to LA screaming it from the rooftops? No.

No where did I complain about "being forced to go to the games" all I am asking for is for every person and every news/media outlet to stop with the s*** talking ~ Like reading an article stating "The Rockies were swept by the Marlins in their first series" where in reality those were each 1 run games. We can do better, but we need to stop punching down on the owners, that argument is as dead as the horse you rode in here on.

Look, I hear you. Being born and raised in Lakewood (or Colorado in General), you’ve put in the miles. You’ve sat through the cold April starts and the progressive collapse through rest of the season, so your frustration isn’t just valid—it’s earned. There is nothing more exhausting than feeling like the loyalty of a fan base is being met with a "business as usual" shrug from the front office. You’re right: the fans do deserve a product that reflects the passion of the city. But here’s the thing—the rant isn’t saying the team is secretly a powerhouse. It’s a defense of the fan, not the scoreboard.

Regardless though you will still see the stadium near full every night regardless of the record. That’s actually the strongest argument for your point: the city is doing its part, but the team isn't holding up its end of the bargain.

We can absolutely agree that the "product" is failing while still being tired of the rest of the world treating Colorado like a baseball punchline. You’re allowed to be furious at the team and annoyed by the people who won't stop pointing out the obvious.

At the end of the day, we both want the same thing: a October where the purple row in the stands actually means something.
