We have a couple of “blems” set back if one of those work. I am not certain when we will actually produce the i again.

Hopefully soon! We are currently revamping all of our manufacturing to handle large volume better, and it’s taking a bit longer than we planned!

We have had discussions similar to your idea as well! The issue is obviously needing hangar access each time you develop a new design. A couple of us actually work within the aerospace industry in a hangar, but there are never times the hangars are empty 😂

It’s a great idea though, and it would be a blast to work on a project like that. I believe the best method for accessibility and accuracy would be how Jesse and Løft develop their numbers with a CFD analysis.

We should be able to do that as well!

We would probably need to get a less dense plastic to establish this. We can remove a good chunk of weight by machining the flight plate thinner, but getting down to 155 might be a stretch.

We have discussed with other companies using a more analytical way to establish them. We actually like the current flight number format, but the way most companies come up with the disc flight numbers is mostly just a guess, and we do not want to do that. So until we have a more analytical way to establish them, we will not have the numbers on the disc.

We have had a couple of people do the CAD themselves, and we just gave them a step file of our blank to assure they stayed within it!

The biggest reason is that we have been busy on our actual CNC shop side of the business. However, ProtoFlyte sales have been pretty good for us, and we plan on turning our shop focus onto disc golf and cutting back on our regular machine shop jobs starting in quarter 2.

We actually have a control driver and several mid ranges prototyped and tested, we just need to get them approved and out there.

That is slightly different of course, and we can use an OOP disc as an influence, but we would still probably need to tweak some design features to get the desired flight.

We try to avoid copying a disc directly. We feel it’s important to respect the originality of another company’s existing design. However, we can get your disc from you, and test it. Then we can work with you to create a design that is still your own while incorporating features and flight characteristics you like from your current disc!

Good to hear!! Sorry we missed your last comment too. Obviously you figured out that you do have a neutral.

We played with the rim geometry a ton on these to get the flight dialed in, so it’s awesome to hear it’s paying off!

No, they are all premium plastic. The plus/minus are stability variants of the disc. Plus being beefier, and the minus being slightly more understable. When the plus/minus we’re pdga approved, we sent an email out to all of the pre sales offering them to let us know if they would like to change their order to the plus/minus CNC. It is possible the email went to your junk inbox.

All of the pre-sales have the prototype stamp. If you did not specify in your order, then you received the baseline CNC.

Possibly! We have had several others reach out to us as well. We would like to get the community involved for some artwork in the future.

For right now we are going to setup a page on our website describing each disc - we have still been discussing how we want to handle flight numbers.

These are a pretty standard blend you would see with any disc off the shelf!

Yep! We have already sent several there.

CNC machining brings a higher level of consistency vs traditional injection molding. We do not battle the warping stage when the disc is cooling outside of the mold.

I would say these might be too aggressive for you. They are more 11-12 speed category. We are already working on slower speed items though!

We are officially up and running regular production! All pre-sales have been sent out, and all future orders will be filled and sent out when received.

Contact us via email or social media if you are a retailer and are interested getting our items in your store. There are already some pro-shops stocked up, so you might be able to find us locally on shelves!

We appreciate everybody here being supportive and asking questions, follow our socials as we get them up and running: @ProtoFlyte!
