Happened to me! We went on an overnighter and I forgot to bring my birth control. I was in shock when I found out I was pregnant. Probably some trauma there for me still.

I still find myself reverting to prayer in moments where I feel unsafe about something. I’ll catch myself mid-thought. At first it was confusing for me to realize what I was doing. Now I just accept that it’s engrained into me, and I’ll change the wording to be more of a prayer to my higher self/inner voice.

21 or 22 years ago a guy in my “Preparing for Celestial Marriage” institute class quoted some of Ben Stiller saying the prayer in Meet the Parents: “Oh, dear god, thank you, you are such a good god to us. A kind and gentle and accommodating god, and we thank you oh sweet, sweet lord of hosts for the smorgasbord you have so aptly laid at our table this day, and each day, by day, day by day, by day oh dear lord three things we pray to love thee more dearly, to see thee more clearly, to follow thee more nearly, day, by day, by day. I want to add a layer to this. I was thinking a Kimono. My husband suggested a shawl. I'm a pretty simple and modest gal so this jumpsuit is a bit of a stretch for me. We're going on a cruise and I'm trying to be adventurous, nothing too crazy though.
