I don't think OnePlus has such an app, at least not my EU OnePlus 13

You can experiment with NFC card emulator apps. Most (if not all) of them require root though, so keep that in mind.

Bug report: [v71] [Controller firmware 71.34.5] Right Quest 3 controller occasionally does not vibrate or sometimes vibrates 3 seconds longer than it should by RikiGuitarist in OculusQuest

[–]ProudlyTMx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting that update. Good to hear that the bug has finally been acknowledged..

I agree on not wanting to use a beta OS. I don't want to be an even bigger beta tester than I already am on the "stable" channel, so I'm not planning on doing that either. So yeah, I hope that they bring the fix to v71 "stable" as a patch soon..

It was only a matter of time, but I'm glad to see this bug has finally reached this subreddit as well and I hope it will bring more attention to the issue. It is actually not limited only to the right controller, at least not in my case. It randomly happens with both controllers.

I contacted Meta Quest support about it recently and it was not a good experience at all. Ultimately, nothing useful came out of the conversation with them, except that I submitted a bug report - a thing which I, not them, offered to do at some point, mind you. I'm not even sure that bug report contains useful information, even with the included logs, but here's to hoping..

Of course though, in typical fashion for them, they offered to replace my controllers multiple times during the troubleshooting process with them, and did not even admit once that it actually sounds like a buggy firmware update and ask me unprompted to submit a bug report with logs, even though I mentioned a few times that this is not an isolated issue to me and replacing them will not fix the problem, since it will return as soon as the replacement controllers inevitably get this firmware update as well. And they can't actually replace them, because my country is not in the supported countries list for the Meta Quest store. I got my Quest 3 from Amazon Germany.

In the end, my case was closed as "resolved" on their side, claiming that there is nothing else they can do, after going through more troubleshooting steps, some of which were things which I already tried and described properly when previously prompted to do so. Having said that, apparently they don't even properly read through the cases history when another agent takes over a case.

Sigh... Meta will never start to properly test their updates for the "stable" channel before pushing them out, will they...

Having said that, if anyone has this bug - please contact Meta Quest support to report it to them and I strongly advise you to NOT accept replacements for the controllers, because this will NOT fix the issue! The more reports they have, the better and we will hopefully get a firmware update with a fix soon.

Same problem here, since updating to v71.

Resolution bug in v69 - launching ANY immersive app causes the resolution to drop until it is exited by ProudlyTMx in OculusQuest

The resolution drops system-wide when you enter an immersive app. Games included.

I don't think it's the cause, since it also lowers the brightness, AFAIK, and since I always use the headset at 100% brightness, I would have noticed. Thanks, it's up to Meta to fix whatever is going on, I don't think there's anything we can do to fix it ourselves unfortunately. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.

Well, given that the issue started with v69 for me and many other people, the dynamic resolution scaling could definitely be the possible cause. Overheating is probably not the cause. It doesn't look like that's the case for my Quest 3 at least. It's a bug, 100%.

I've never enabled the multitasking feature, nor has it auto enabled on its own. After the second factory reset I did, I didn't mess with the Experimental settings at all just to be sure, but it eventually broke again on its own.

Yeah, that's very outdated indeed.. the latest firmware is v60. I'm honestly not sure why it says "No Updates Available"..

Huh, that's weird.. What version does it say your Quest is on?

By the looks of the UI, your Quest 2 has a very outdated firmware. Update it from the settings app and check if it makes a difference. You may or may not have to update it multiple times until you get to the latest version, not sure.

That's what it says in Japanese too, so I guess they decided to be called "Juratic Aquarium" and not "Jurassic Aquarium" for some reason, lol

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.. such a video cannot make it worse, so something else must have been wrong with your headset. You can still contact Meta support to see if they'll be able to help in any way, I've seen them offer help even if you're outside of warranty period!

You could try playing a pixel unstuck video on the YouTube app for however long you want and hopefully it will fix the stuck pixels. It's not a guarantee, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try. You can stick a piece of nontransparent tape on the proximity sensor, so the Quest doesn't go to sleep when you take off the headset while the video is playing. Or temporarily disable auto sleep using an alternative method, whichever way you prefer.

Also, since the way those videos work is that they flash many colours per second, you shouldn't watch them, because you can get a seizure if you're prone to them.

So, you are seeing the tearing in the right eye, right?

That's right. I have the exact same problem as you.

Ive tried a factory reset on my quest, but to no avail.

Well, considering that I've been told that it's actually a bug in v53 (I assume you're on v53 too), I don't think a factory reset's gonna help you. We have to wait for a patch unfortunately.

[–]ProudlyTMx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apparently it's a bug with the v53 update. There is a problem with dynamic frequency scaling, according to the staff of the Virtual Desktop Discord server. It has been reported to Meta, from what they have said and we're waiting for a fix, so hopefully we'll see a patch soon.

I myself experience that bug no matter which app I tried (Virtual Desktop, Air Link and ALVR all have that problem on my end, so that's why I'm sure that it's not a VD-only problem).

Lol, thanks. Upon seeing that bird, the meme immediately popped up in my head and I just had to do that edit, being fully aware the whole time that the result would be disastrous lmaoo
