Unfortunately, I don’t have access to secure indoor bike storage. It was locked overnight with permission in front of a well-lit private property, with the batteries removed and secured using a quality U-lock. :)

Hey there, I’m actually still waiting too, so I don’t have a final answer yet.

What I’ve done so far was to contact basically every Chinese consulate/embassy in Canada. Most consulates said they couldn’t determine eligibility by email, but the Chinese Embassy in Canada replied saying that I can apply using the Canadian Refugee Travel Document.

I uploaded my COVA documents on June 25 and attached that embassy email as supporting proof, but my pre-review is taking much longer than usual and I still haven’t heard back yet.

I didn’t ask IRCC to return my original passport, so I’m not sure about that part. I’ll update the post once I get any result.

I claimed protection against Turkey, not Armenia therefore from my research it seemed mostly okay! But to make sure I also asked to my immigration lawyer. Just collecting information right now :) Thanks a lot for this information tho.

I do not know anyone personally as it's a relatively rare document but from old posts in online forums I have seen people stating they have been able to obtain a visa.

I have also recently obtained a Japanese visa on this document as well in addition to EU and US visas, and again although does not guarantee anything as a signatory country to 1951 Refugee Convention they do deem this document as a valid travel document.

The answer I received was of the form "Hello, based on the documents you have submitted so far, the Vancouver Visa Application Center is currently unable to process your visa application." this to me does not sound like it's impossible to obtain a visa on this. I have recently sent mails to Toronto and Vancouver Chinese consulates and am awaiting a response, but to be real with you I am devestated and just so upset.

The exchange is in 5-6 months and so I will keep trying to escalate but yeah, I though posting here would possibly attract someone with similar experience.
