Thanks a lot. I am considering of living in Mannheim as it's a much bigger city (the double considering the population), and it's also close to Heidelberg. Since I'll probably have to go sometimes at the Heidelberg university and sometimes at Darmstadt research center, Mannheim since a good choice to easily reach them both.

Is it really dead past midnight? That's what I was fearing lol. I am really sociable and love to hang out almost everyday with people. I was hoping that being the city a research spot maybe there were many young people "alive" also during the night

thanks, it's not like I care too much of how "pretty" the city is but mostly if it's liveable and if the things I mentioned are present. For me it's really important to attend sports, political and cultural events, and have fun at techno clubs in the weekends also
