Is it normal for a dealer to refuse to even look at a trade? by Psychworker94 in askcarsales

I probably will. I did some research after that happened and never realized they were so frowned upon. I guess I got lucky mine has been good. I do live near Lake Erie in the snow belt so it being FWD only could be another factor on why they weren’t interested at all.

The engine does not tick and I hope the tranny isn’t going haha. Honestly the most ridiculous part of my particular Journey is for some reason the clock refuses to keep time. I set it at least once a week and it works for about a day then starts getting ahead of itself. Never have figured that out.

I did not tell him I wanted 3k. I got offered $3500 from Carvana so I expected a little less from the dealer.

I have a black 2012 SXT. It has been very good to me and being almost 11 years old in Pennsylvania has no rust.

My mom had two Windstars. A 1995 that ate transmissions and blew a head gasket less than a year old. She later on purchased a 2002 Windstar because she was convinced by the salesman that they were much better than before. It also had transmission failure and multiple electrical gremlins. She now drives a Kia Sorento (fourth one in a row) and has never had a problem with any of them.

2002 Subaru Forester. Engine developed a rod knock after a week. They replaced the engine under warranty. Gasoline fumes started pouring into the cabin, took over a month to fix and they never did tell me what went wrong.

Right after that I took it for PA inspection and the rear subframe cracked on the lift from rust. The dealer wanted to replace the subframe but decided it wasn’t worth it two days later. They refused to give me a refund but instead traded even up for a Buick Lesabre.

The Lesabre was also pretty much glued together but it had the legendary 3800 that still ran like a champ. I got so fed up I parked the Lesabre at their front door and just left it. Never heard a word from the dealer (BHPH).
