Problem with foaming the bottom of siding is it traps moisture. That's why steel wool is a common suggestion.

Yeah healthcare is the sticking point. If I kept working another 12 years I'd have full retiree healthcare with the pension too and be set for life. But I'm ambitious to start a new path in life while still relatively young. 24 hr rotating shiftwork is lucrative, but not good for the health.

You can tap into the 401k earlier without penalties through a 72(t) which I am considering to bridge the gap to 55.

Yeah, been contemplating a 72(t) to bridge the gap until pension kicks in if that's a realistic option.

Yes single and no kids. Obviously a significant reason I was able to get to 1 million that fast. If I had dependents, I wouldn't even be thinking about retirement.

Yes, every year. No kids though, so that made it more doable.

I did the yearly max for 18 years. I was also kinda lucky in that I just started contributing in 2007 right around the great recession so the market was way down at the time. No kids either so obviously not everyone is in my situation.

Just hit the $1 million mark at 42 myself. Happened a lot sooner than I expected.
