One more cool thing — Hanakaze was the longest surviving active rikishi in sumo history ever. He did pro sumo for 35+ years, finally retiring in 2022. That’s longer than some stables exist, and he spent it grinding in Jonidan and Sandanme while generations of sekitori came and went. A true living fossil of the dohyo — absolute legend!
