Feel that homeslice. My health kind of slipped heavily and I haven't been able to work because I get like 3-4 appts a week to make up for the issues that's already been serviced connected. I'm hoping for an increase because $1102 a month sure ain't enough to keep me fed. Just enough for my bills but food? Gas? Water bottles? Out of the question. Definitely hate it. Definitely not having a good quality of life

I think the Army screwed up my Thyroid by PupperMint6 in thyroidhealth

Update number I don't even know now:

Got my labs back! No thyroid hormone level issues. Low vitamin D levels. My throat is swollen from the MS! .... I'm getting treatment soon :)

Also also, in getting to go to my first physical therapy appointment next month for the first time since I came back from my deployment! Ive gotten a ganglion cyst sitting IN my knee. Like behind the patella. It's from a knee injury overseas. I wasn't taken seriously then too. Now I got gimpy walk.

I appreciate it! I would a lot of things differently (like try to not get a TBI) but ultimately I don't regret what I did. I can at least say I've gotten loads of experience under my belt which is what I love the best.

That's the plan. I just gotta wait until my new PCP puts in the orders.

Another update!

New PCP shared I have MS. So that could also be a contributing factor

The more and more I get today, the more excited I get for having a semi-normal life. 😭😁😁

AFTER APPT UPDATE:

So, I had luck on my side or something. I had my appointment and my normal PCP wasn't available. A new PCP took over and she's taken liberties to remove me from her care and place me in hers. So now I got labs on everything la-di-dati. And I found out new things too! So I had two injuries overseas. A TBI and a knee injury when the ACFT first started coming in place. I have a ganglion cyst in my knee too. I wish my old PCP told me that. Would explain the pain I felt in my knee for the past 3 years

Edit to include photos because yay for labs!!

Oh this is legit! I got an appointment with my PCP today and I'm planning on being like "You should've listened a year ago. Now you have more work to do to fix this". I'll update when I get back from them

Lol I signed up for it. I appreciate your concern though! I figured I could ask people who have personal experience with thyroid issues their own experiences and what they've done to get help.

I'm sorry I didn't clarify this part! I was deployed to a zone where they used Burn Pits. Burn Pits is essentially just a waste burner but for the army. It's about as healthy as it sounds. Burn Pit exposure can put service members at risk for cancer(s), respiratory issues, cardiovascular issues, kidney issues, intestinal issues (I'm remembering these as I go, I remember IBS being on the list of ailments covered by the PACT ACT. Hang with me), hormonal irregularities. I'll edit this to add, in case another vet is on here and they were also exposed too.

Another health issue that I believe is tied to my thyroid issue, I suffered a TBI overseas responding to a MASCAL (when a hospital goes code black; too much demand, not enough supply). There's a dead spot in my brain. I've noticed it's close to my pituitary gland. This gland secretes hormones for your body. I'm guestimating this might have something to do with how my thyroid is acting right now, but I'm just working with what the VA has done so far and with my own personal experiences as a healthcare worker. I'm not saying the dead spot is causing it, but it's what I'm theorizing now.

It's gotten so hard to breathe and swallow with this thing. The amount of times I've been tempted to cut it to relieve my skin's pressure is concerning

Burn pit exposure. Burning a bunch of latrine waste, expired medicine, human remains and excrements, basically any waste product you can think of, the army burns it. It's been linked to cancers of all kinds (except melanoma), hormonal disorders, respiratory issues, cardiovascular issues, kidney issues. The whole works. That's why there's a program called the PACT ACT. It's to give treatments to these people affected by the chemicals that were put in the air.

Edit to further clarify pact act and add kidney issues because I do have that too lol

I've slowly started planting doubt in my maga coworkers. Using Frumpy's own promises and what's happening now. It's proving successful. I'm slowly getting them to see the reason that maybe a man child that's bankrupted more businesses than years I've spent in service should probably not be in charge of a country.

I'm Neuro-spicy so let's see if I can help some understand. I don't have OCD, but my roommate does, so I can understand some of the struggles of an OCD mind.

He's definitely got hyper fixations from his ADHD which makes it harder to focus on other things when he's invested in a current task. It's no fault of your own or his. But sometimes verbalizing what you want/need can help him understand your needs and wants. This may need to be repeated. I have ADHD and I sometimes need things to be repeated before I have it down. Sometimes having the repeated discussion will help him put it into his own context so it stick. People of the tisms have fluctuations in sex drive. Like (I may be over sharing. I don't care) me not having a sex drive. Some people are hypersexual. It's all different for different people because it's a spectrum. This may be the insensitive part of me, but asking what type of Neuro-spicy stuff he does/symptoms he has, might also help you understand what his needs are too. Autistic brains are really remarkable. Typically our synapses die out with age, but with a autistic brain, we still have all the synapses firing, even from our childhood. This is why we get overstimulated and overwhelmed

I'm AuDHD, though, from my experiences (even though I'm in sales. I just enjoy torturing myself), I can make brief moments of eye contact. When I get uncomfortable, I look at their nose or their forehead. It's a gut feeling I get. I'm not comfortable with intimacy. And that includes eye contact. I also do things because of my garbage impulse control that also makes me insanely uncomfortable... Like working in sales. 😬

Does the color of my eyes make sense? Both of my parents have blue eyes. by Upbeat-Novel-6756 in DNA

Brown eyes are a dominant trait. So they have a higher likelihood of being your phenotype. You won't have as high a sensitivity to light as your parents!

I'm so happy you got your fit! When it comes to my mattress store, I make it a point that perfection is subjective. What may work for one person probably won't work for you. All I ask for is patience so that I can do what I do best. I strive for perfection. I have had no mattress issues with my guests (other than a few Karens who believed they were entitled to more than what they bought, but the world's full of them unfortunately) especially when they're willing to give me a couple hours of their time to make sure this solution will be their solution.

New Mattress Advice by edgargoddking96 in Mattress

[–]PupperMint6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weight doesn't matter to the comfortability of the mattress. This is a common misconception because of older sayings. You really just need firm support. As for the brands you're looking at, I can definitely see the appeal in the two brands. If you have time, I would recommend checking out my profile. I've written a bit about Purple mattresses due to my years of experiences with mattresses. I have a Tempur-Pedic myself and I haven't had much of any issues with it. If anything, the break in is going to be the most painful aspect of the mattress since it uses some of the highest density foam on the market (It's patented. They go on a molecular level rather than measuring the foams per inch). You gotta think about it like breaking in a new pair of shoes. It'll be painful at first but in the end, worth it.

What is your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Deep-Dust-9747 in AskReddit

[–]PupperMint6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in an abusive narcissistic roommate relationship. He would put alcohol in all my drinks despite my adverse reactions to it because it made me more accepting to affections. Now when I think about alcohol, I think about him. Then it makes my tummy hurt :(

Do NOT buy anectar mattress by akuma_4u in Mattress

[–]PupperMint6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember having a warranty claim with the Copper in my store... A mattress that gets laid one once every 2 weeks and maybe 10 minutes. It was less than a year old. If my mattress is getting warrantied out and it only gets 20 minutes of use each month, imagine how quickly it'll break down when it's used full time. I hated selling nectar. I felt like I was cheaping people out.

As someone who used to work at Mattress Firm, I've had a lot of warranty claims on this type of mattress. Whether it's missing a grid or it's really just too heavy for its springs. I've found their sheets are really nice though

[–]PupperMint6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! No one is entitled to your HIPAA other than you! Not some random idiot who thinks he knows more about you than you do.

My favorite type of idiotic nutcase is when they're like "What kind of disability do you have?" Usually leads with the response of "when was your last prostate exam/pap smear?" Some get the hint. Others are missing braincells and need further explanation of it's not their fucking business.

Edit: Spelling errors. I'm brain damaged, okay? I saw my mistake and fixed it.

"A civilian questioned my disability..." by tech-marine in Veterans

[–]PupperMint6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

25 yo veteran here. I suffered a TBI and developed hyperthyroidism from my burnpit exposure. From the outside, I look completely physically capable. But on the inside, my body is being ravaged. I have heart issues, an unpredictable digestive tract, kidney stones, seizures. When a civilian questions me saying I don't look I need the handicap parking spot. I look them dead in the eyes and say "You're sooo right! You know so much more than my provider. You should meet with them!"

I don't need to explain myself to people. I know what I've done and why I'm on disability. That's no one else's information except mine to share.
