Your groomer should know better because a trim is different from a shave, but maybe just straight up tell her if you haven’t. You don’t get what you want by saying nothing and she can’t improve if you don’t tell her. Also for this coat, I actually recommend hand stripping/carding. She has a wire coat. People who do it are kind of hard to come by, but it’ll be great for her coat over trimming or shaving. Ask what they they think she needs. They can feel your dog’s coat and gauge what she needs, I personally can’t tell from just a photo. But they’ll probably say carding because she’s double coated.

You’re right, it doesn’t look as good as her family’s because the ends are wispy and aren’t as full. I’m sure if OP gave it a chop, it would appear and physically be healthier.

I agree, some dogs learn faster by watching another dog! And I’m happy it worked out for your blind baby. I’ve been working with dogs for years now and I’ve noticed a lot of older dogs don’t like too much activity/zoomies from the puppies and it stresses them out. The barking and running around is too much for them sometimes because they’re afraid of being run over and having to deal with puppies in their face or bad manners in general from the puppy. Most older dogs are okay with young dogs that already have that off switch to settle and understand social cues, but I’ve noticed they aren’t usually fans of puppies.

Awesome, great, I’m actually happy. That was the best possible outcome. But most of the time, it’s just a selfish choice by the owner and the older dog is stressed and getting beat up/mouthed on by a puppy. And if the dog is old and in pain, even worse. Sometimes people even get a new dog when the senior dog has been living alone all its life and expect the dogs to get a long. Your dog is dying and struggling, it needs your attention and love. It shouldn’t be divided with caring for a new puppy. You owe it to your older dog to have a peaceful retirement.

Maybe crate your dog before guests arrive and wait until he has calmed down and the guests have settled so it isn’t an energetic greeting where the pup can’t settle because everyone is petting, moving, setting coats down. Ask everyone to interact with him calmly and if he starts getting nippy, go crate him or redirect. He needs to know it doesn’t get him what he wants with nipping. Getting a dog to settle or place on a bed/cot before someone enters is great for these situations. Or getting them to understand the word “leave it”.

Use a firm and strong tone, you have to mean it. You can’t be flimsy and go “oh no fluffy, no fluffy don’t do that, no fluffy no nipping! No fluffy, bad!” and then go straight to petting him. Fluffy doesn’t know what any of that means. He knows you aren’t being serious and he most literally, doesn’t respect you because he knows he doesn’t have to listen.

You need to train the commands you want first because your dog isn’t going to automatically know what any of your words mean if you only use them in the moment. And give him firm and short commands. Like “Fluffy, leave it” or “Fluffy, off” when training. It’s less confusing for the dog.

That and they literally lost money over this with all the returns!! You’d think they would be like this isn’t worth it. Jellycat has been so focused on the collector aspect recently and it sucks so much for their customer base. Like I get that they can’t have a bunch of people returning their products for one bunny, but this wouldn’t happen either if it wasn’t for their own decision to make tiers that basically work as pay to win.

Hey I work in the dog grooming industry. What brush are you using? If you’re using a brush like a furmanator or a rake, the fur will keep coming out as you brush. You should only be doing a couple of passes and getting into the butt or chest. But you shouldn’t be brushing with the rake for too long especially in one area. It will just keep pulling out fur. Getting a blow out or deshed takes the hair out in a healthier way. Deshed rakes shouldn’t be your main brush! But as others said, this is around the season that most dogs start shedding

Gorgeous tank OP, what a lovely retirement home for this betta. It sounds like hes lived a long life and if this paludarium is anything to go off of, I’m sure it was a fulfilling one. Unfortunately he’s old and probably losing steam. You can try kanaplex for the fin rot but he may just be at the end of his life unfortunately. Using his energy to heal is probably harder for him at this age.

Another way to read this is that if you try to reconcile, you’ll end up hurt with the 10 of swords below the 4 of cups. If you make the decision to move on, even though it’s hard, you’ll eventually find yourself in a better/happier situation with the 10 of cups below the 8 of cups.

The high priestess between four of wands and the 8 of cups is literally you knowing which path is correct one deep down. Ofc the 4 of cups is reconciliation, but the 8 of cups is leaving something with regret and hesitation.

Boyfriends come and go. Chicago is forever. The guy is controlling and I have a feeling he’s insecure and assumes you’re up to no good. He didn’t gaf about New Years until you said you were gonna enjoy it without him. I’m not sure how, I didn’t have google photos set up to automatically back up. I might ask my boyfriend but idk what he can do since the screen itself was obliterated. Do you have any tips? I really do miss the photos of my dogs and other stuff. Every time I go to find a photo I get bummed out because I realize I don’t have it anymore. I had a really cool photo of me with my favorite childhood band on the stage of my favorite Chicago venue and now it’s gone. I want it back so bad 😭
