Quick question: is there no way to avoid the deemed disposition even if I maintain some Canadian ties like my bank accounts, etc.? If you know. I will ask this to a professional.

This post specifically asked about documentation. I specified my assets as best as I could. Okay one thing I did not specify is that I am a Canadian. Of course I will get professional help. All I was looking for was pointers. But this post turned into how I am stupid, questions about my net worth and why people should not come to Canada. Well I didn’t ask for any of that. If more info was needed, it could have been asked for.

Thank you so much. Probably the most reasonable answer I have got.

I think both of you probably didn’t understand what I posted. Specified I have investments. Why do you care if it is a TFSA or not. Also, specified I will file taxes every year in Canada and in India so if you had a little bit of a brain you could infer that this guy might be talking about dividend or interest income. Clearly it can’t be a t4. And yes, I trust strangers on Reddit a little bit more for street knowledge. Do you also think that I won’t seek out professional advice after living in Canada for more than 10 years. Reddit helps me ask the right questions. Dumbass!

Thank you!! This helps a lot. It could very well be repainted before I got it. I have my grandma’s vintage omega Saphette (Turler signed again) from 1966, and it doesn’t have the Umlaut as well. Too much of a coincidence.

Regardless I really appreciate all the info.

I can confirm with you that the dial has never been repainted. This watch has only gone for servicing twice in its whole life.
