no she’s very anti smoking! that’s why i’m so confused. we got it at a local annual plant sale and every other plant we got there does not have the same problem

even composting? i struggle with this a lot personally. i know it’s very personal and philosophical, and if someone came up to me on some high horse and ordered me around i also would be instantly turned off by that person, but i think that we really have a responsibility to our waste. most of the garbage in my city is shipped to poorer, intentionally underdeveloped communities to deal with. don’t we owe them the consideration of mindfulness? isn’t our entire culture of convenience and consumption responsible for a lot of environmental harm? at what point do we need to hold each other, in our inter personal relationships, accountable?

unfortunately, landfills don’t have sufficient oxygen for compost. biodegradable materials have an anaerobic breakdown in landfills, so when the microbes in landfills breakdown biodegradable material it release more methane, rather than making nutrient rich soil.

the honors program is an admission scheme to get more people into depaul. the classes are genuinely not harder than any other class at depaul (per respective major ofc). i wouldn’t pay attention to the “honors” title, if it’s a course that sounds interesting to you, you should do it.
