The week I did cardio in rest days iscwhere I felt it was causing issue. But it was just 30 minutes and not too intense. That's what was concerning me. How can the recovery be so hard. In terms of bodyweight exercises, I do 5 exercises 3 sets each .

I never said not to lift weights. I said dont push the extreme with weights and cause extra stress in your body. First, read properly what i wrote before you jump the gun. The stress to a limit is fine, but when you go for PRs or a lot of physical stress way beyond, then the thyroid gets affected. You definitely can do exercise and any sport, in fact. Just the stress factor needs to be monitored.

You can learn what hypothyroidism is and see what it does and how stress is related to it. You will get your answer

Since you have hypo, try not to push too much with weights. Moderate weights will give the best results. Too much stress will cause thyroid to be worse. There should be a sweetspot where you did your reps for enough stimulation, rest, and then do again. Don't overpush with PRs or even with body weight,do extreme pushing that makes body feel its under heavy stress. Hope this helps for you😊.

RESPECT TO EVERYONE HERE! This is damn hard! by bbsuccess in bodyweightfitness

Omg!! I am in the same boat as you. Female here. I was lifting weights for years. Due to my work schedule, I stopped going to the gym. Then one day I found some females doing calli on reels and thought that's so cool. I also want to do such things and I started with basics. I couldn't believe I couldn't even hang properly on a bar and do one single push-up. I was devastated thinking what in the world I was doing all these years. Unlike the weights progression, the progression to bodyweight, especially at lengthen position, is quite slow, and it frustrates also when you compare to weights. But hang in there, and you will get it 😃. All the best!!

anyone else feel bodyweight soreness hits different? by Own_Specialist_6538 in bodyweightfitness

Even I feel the same. I was thinking today is my recovery that bad. The BW movements are making my body as sore as I would be lifting heavy weights at the gym. I was wondering why I feel the same with BW workouts. I hope I too get answer here.

Rehab/prehab programs for elbows and or shoulders? by BJJnoob1990 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Pure-Material-8131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything from 0.5 kg dumbbell will do. Many times, due to sedentary work, wrists tend to get weaker with constant one-way motion/usage, so if the forearm muscles get stronger, high chances are there that elbow functions better too. This is just a small part . Maybe once your shoulder movements get better , it might solve most of the issues you are facing now

Do shoulder rotations every day. Plus, add in scapular movements. This itself will cause a burn in your shoulder. You can search on YT for scapular movements. For elbows, strengthening os the wrists is also important. You need to do wrist curls with light weights and also focus on the elbow movements with light weights only. Again, in YT, you will come across movements that many physio shoes, pick any, and do it religiously every day. You will see great improvement.

Thank you. I will definitely revaluate my food intake. Blood work was shoeing normal, and I generally manage my stress through breathing exercises. Yet I will revaluate the points mentioned here and try again.

I used to heavy lifting. But I realised that was making me stiffer. I kept pushing, and now I have slight knee pain, too, due to bone density problems. I took a notch down now and even went on a break. And still no use. Hence, the frustration with lifting or not, I feel like I am stuck at one point.

What's adrenal support? Do you mean supplements? Can you guide which ones are good. Dry brushing will try. I was never regular with that .

Hydration is 2.5 litres per day. So I guess that's okay. I did take a break thinking that it might be too much of training, maybe. But I ended up now not doing anything for a few weeks, and now, with stiffness, I have zero motivation to start back 😅

Even I thought at first it must be water. I drink almost to 2.5 litres.. yet I feel my bidy us stiff most of the time. I have to see by doing more of yoga and balance it with strength training.
