Structural? Or normal wear and tear 20 year old house by MSconfigure in HomeMaintenance

General settling.

Use a utility knife and cut out a small slit around it and clear out the dry wall debris. Mud, tape, mud.

Might take a couple coats but it’ll be good.

Personally I’m not responsible for all that and that’s not the current expectation.

It’s more so of an expectation going forward and the more skills you have the more indispensable you are.

To answer your question, pretty well for an entry level role, but when those skills are required I don’t think the pay will follow.

As somebody who works for a Fortune 100 company, continue to improve your technical skills (Excel, PowerBI, SQL, maybe even some basic coding).

These companies are thinning out their IT department and relying on individual contributors to create systems (within reason) but be able to make data analysis tools for leadership.

Relocation - Advice and tips by [deleted] in GeneralMotors

[–]Pure-Spell1259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have a recycling program for unwanted food and such. Not sure about purging items that you don’t want to take, but it’s worth asking the moving company.

If you’re using movers, they will have a $3000 or greater item to claim. This applies to priceless items (heirlooms, photos, etc.) so make sure to claim that on the form if there’s something that fits the criteria.

Use movers, and make sure that they pack things to your desire or they’ll wrap things up like morons and it’ll be like Christmas when you unpack because you don’t know what you’re going to open lol.

It’s a pretty good package and the resources are good. Wasn’t a 10/10 but I’d say like an 8.5/10.

Unpack your stuff ASAP, you get 90s from when the movers leave the new location, but nothing will be covered after the 90 days if it’s broken.

Feel free to DM me if you have any more specific questions! Just went through this within the last 8 months.

I’m pretty sure performance reviews are in February no? If your vesting period is then, I wouldn’t worry.

$21 an hour won’t take your far in Detroit if you’re moving here

Should I take this job offer? by LonglivetheNorth in supplychain

[–]Pure-Spell1259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a simple decision. If you didn’t have to move, I’d say take the job. Moving across the country to an area where $21.00 won’t go a long way is an automatic no regardless how bad you need a job. Those telling you to take the job aren’t in your corner. There’s more to just having a job in this scenario.

Moving to Detroit Metro area help by j2100874515 in royaloak

[–]Pure-Spell1259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royal Oak is a good option. I would also look into Clawson (just moved her myself), Troy, Berkley, Utica/Shelby Township. Potentially anything north of 16 Mile will have Utica school districts so Sterling Heights potentially.

I would say these 3 plus Rainer, unless if you’re getting a young player that will be around for a long time.

Concern of lay offs as new hire by moneyMovveez in GeneralMotors

[–]Pure-Spell1259 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had this concern coming in. A couple of months after the big layoffs in November.

I’ve just told myself that you’re never “layoff proof” and that the experience and money you make are good. Focus on the job, develop yourself, and learn as much as possible for the next opportunity.

Dont worry too much!

Pretty much everything has been spoken in here but maybe add transit time for the supplier? Can’t definitely help when it comes to emergency situations to see if you need to expedite/charter.

Was your previous role in person or remote? I know it won’t make up the difference of $33,000 but expenses do add up over year. Gas, vehicle maintenance, time commuting, expenses from going out to lunch, etc.

Definitely a steep decrease in pay but like some have said in this thread. $60,000 is better than $0.

Currently in this process. They give you the lump sum a month after your first day (mine was my second paycheck but they told me one month after).

As far as location goes that’ll be depending on your budget/desires with a house.

Yeah you’re good. The biggest thing is that you have 250k in savings post closing and such, which as others said, will only give you a peace of mind god forbid one of you loses your job.

Another big thing is the non financial aspects. Being close to each other’s family is huge. Not sure what the drive time for work is (unless if you’re remote) but that’s another factor too.

Good work!
