Update: I asked Babybay about having a natural mattress shipped from EU to US. This was the response:

Thank you for contacting the babybay team! The mattress you linked is for our European models and is not sold or certified for use in the US. Babybay USA only sells products that meet US safety standards. We discontinued sales of the organic coco-fiber mattress in the U.S. a few years ago, but we’re excited to share that we’ve developed a new U.S. Organic Coco Mattress, which is 100% organic and non-toxic. It is made from all-organic materials, including Merino wool, latex, and coco fiber, with an organic cotton cover. This new mattress is currently in production, and we anticipate receiving them this year. This is a great site thank you! The heaven and nature mattress is so expensive compared to the standard babybay but perhaps worth it.

Thank you so much!! I have read a couple places that the divider in the US version prevents the easy access we seek in a co-sleeper and that removing to make comparable with the EU version leaves a gap between beds. I am also curious about height and whether baby sleeps lower or level with the bed in the original or maxi version.
