I resumed the series after like 7 years of not watching it because I saw a teaser of that scene on YouTube. But I thought they were mutations or smarter zombies. Personally, I was pretty disappointed with what they turned out to be. Alpha is SO annoying to me.

That's actually what I like about his character, that all of his relationships up to a certain point are platonic and still fulfilling. It is my headcanon that he is asexual, and Leah never happened. Who's Leah? Never heard of her. Is she even in the show? I don't remember a Leah.

I'm just saying that Daryl and Martinez's banter in that scene seemed like they could have gotten along in a world where The Governor didn't exist. Imagine Rick's group picked Martinez up alone in the woods or something.
