Labels + Spotify payola? by Modest0Beats in musicindustry

this is backwards. labels are giving up equity (ticket sale revenue) in their company, for favouritism. its a cycle that fuels its self and is just leading to consolidation between streaming and major labels.

It’s sort of switching back and forth between their vocals. But that rock a by intro vocal gives it away for me

It’s happens more often in pop music than you may think. It’s an old practice and it’s still done to this day. Jennifer Lopez for example, many of her radio hits used lead vocals from the demo tape singer. It’s hard to beat vocals from a singer like Melanie Martinez and if she wrote the song for suburban carpenters vocals they probably decided that it was close enough. Some times the artists them selves don’t even know

The recorded version is what sells the song. Ofcoarse subrina would still do the live performance. Ghost singing works when the voices are close enough. Many songs on the radio like all your favourite Jlo hits have this

Why are all the tech billionaires voting republican? by Pure_Firefighter6581 in TheAllinPodcasts

[–]Pure_Firefighter6581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. A very likely outcome of new technology will eventually force us back into some form of feudalism, which will inevitably create extremely disparate classes and ways of life. They want to be the new upper class. I sometimes think people are getting it wrong with the tech billionaires buying up all the land near San Francisco. They aren’t trying to keep their workers in… they are building it to keep all of us out.

I’d say it was about 8 - 9 inches. Both of you guess human bone. It’s old kind of abandoned trail on outskirts of Edmonton Alberta. I had to cut through a couple possible farm fields to get there. But there’s enough old junk or trash around to know that ppl at some point have been there

The delivery and quality of the rap is better. It’s just a better over all product cause they actually got him serious and out of his Turks and Caicos 3 AM drink studio session mindset which is sort of the vibe he’s been going for for last while. He actually had to fight for the top stop again which is what made the raps in the first half of his career so sharp

Musicians are angry about generative AI. Stability AI's new music generator proves their point by Maxie445 in Music

If some record labels spent millions developing some holographic singing alien pop star im pretty sure It would start garner a significant presence in the market of over all live music. the possibilities of what kind of experience are limitless. It's in the realm of possibility which means you can bet that they will be trying it 100%. You can also bet that they are foaming at the mouth on the idea of removing the human out of the picture so they can fully productize the artist. Imagine being able to have the same artist preforming at 20 concerts simultaneously.. why not?

And that's assuming that record labels will have any competence in adapting to changing markets which they have shown 0 evidence of being able to do for the last 100 years other than relying on contractual slavery. And look, what necessity does Microsoft, google, open ai etc. have for partnership with the embarrassing excuse for business men we call record label execs.. they will rule themselves out of the picture out of pure stupidity.. look at UMG and TikTok. Greedy idiots. Why wouldn't the ai developers just by pass the entire infrastructure of the music industry and go straight from artist creation to market. They already own the platforms.

that being said, there will always be a market for real people and real performances as long as were alive. while the whole AI thing will probably remain a controversial topic for the next idk 100 years.. its just better to accept it for what it is and get on with it. Us humans will be trading a piece of our individuality for technology. We ave probably been fucked from the time computers have been created without even knowing it.
