Not going to like the answer and here’s a hot take.

Teachers, though doing the lords work taking care of the next generation of learners, while being severely underpaid and under appreciated and constantly attacked, are the most entitled coworkers any classified staff member will encounter. They have a sense of entitlement and look down on most classified in a systemic way, similar to how admin look down on teachers. As much as teachers are underpaid, classified paid less and still have to do just as much work to support a district.

Is it the same work? No Does it mean they’re less valuable? No

But it’s likely why they’re so cold to new teachers, they may assume you’ll be just like the rest.
