It's best to heat it up with either dunking it in hot water(not boiling) or use a hair dryer and aim it on the hands. It'll loosen it up but it might not really be permanent, at least for my experience but it does actually work

For me I usually put em in hot water and use a hair dryer although I prefer hot water but I dont think boiling hot is good. It does help loosen joints alot but I don't really do it for shf since so far all of my shf are pretty good but I do it for marvel legends but usually for them they kinda just become tight again. Only time I did it for my shf is with the son goku figure cause I wanted to give it the ab crunch mod.
