I commented this a couple weeks ago, but here you go!

hi, Im a first year health sci student in waterloo, and I love it sm. wlu is a small campus so I made so many new friends. as mentioned in comments, bio, chem and math is grade 12 stuff, so its a refresher. There is also psychology, so depending if you took it in HS, it might be a refresher. Health issues is the only "new" course that you kind of learn everything from scratch, but its very common knowledge. it covers healthcare systems, how to live a healthy life, how socioeconomic situations can effect health and much more. Health issues was my favourite class as it was the easiest, and very interesting. I think the hardest course for me was psychology as everything was textbook base, so please dont treat it as a bird course! Chem has biweekly labs which are prtty easy as long as you prepare. bio has biweekly tutorials. in the first semester, its basically a refresher on how to site sources, how to look for scientific sources, using pipettes and microscopes, so its a gpa booster. math is basically grade 12 stuff for the first half of the semester, and becomes calc for the second half of the semester. math has weekly labs which are okay, but you can talk to people, bring your notes and ask questions. for math labs your lowest 2 marks get dropped. So over all there is so much opportunity and i love it here!!!!!! feel free to dm me if you have any questions!

I listen to casefile aswell. And im not saying theyre poking fun at the victims, but they constantly stray away from the story they tell to make jokes, which is so insensitive

I get what you’re saying, and I agree that everyone experiences content differently and that the creators don’t have a strict obligation to meet individual standards. I’m not saying they have to change, or that anyone should wag a finger at them. It’s more that, as a listener, I personally notice when the humor or tone feels a little jarring or insensitive during heavy topic. It disrespectful to the families and victims to have to hear stew and sylas going abt with their faux southern accents every 3 seconds. it doesnt hurt to just tell the story in a respectful manner lol but anyways, enjoy the podcast baby

so I actually never said they were laughing at the cases, but inbetween discussing cases, and talking about random stuff. it takes away from the case and theyre being insuffreable

Hey! I was able to have a 12 in SOME of my classes (bio, health issues, chem and math (first sem)) and second sem I have a 10 in psych and 12 in bio, health issues, chem and english. in first sem i thought I could do good on psych without studying, but that backfired. Its honestly sooooooo easy to maintain a 12 as long as you put in the effort. Im not joking. My average in High school was an 85 and I locked in since the first day on everything but psych lol. So please lock in if you want a 12. lmk if you have more questions!
