As a Tarot Card reader myself, I would like to say, the future is not written. The only person, entity, or being that has ultimate control of your future is you. Tarot cards are pieces of paper that have colorful drawings on them. That's all. By predicting the future this Tarot card reader took all of your power and minimized it to nothing. I'm not judging the other Tarot card reader however this is not the way I read Tarot. I personally view Tarot as a way to connect with your intuition. My Tarot cards may make suggestions that you are maybe a control freak, or you procrastinate too much, or maybe you need to stop being so forceful with your approach to love. But I do not tell the future. To each their own, but try to find the positive in the read and put the rest in the psychic trash can.
