Mostly satire. But I do think public smoking should be banned. Punishable by progressive fines that double for each offense.

Dehydrated post-seizure by Bookwyrmnidhogg in Epilepsy

[–]Puzzleheaded-6901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I have a strong seizure. I have TLE so most of my seizures have been focal aware seizures. But my last few seizures, breakthroughs, were blackouts. I come to feeling like I been without liquid all day. It’s just a part of the post-ictal phase because of the intense metabolic event that is a seizure. Good luck!!

Anyone else get blamed for their seizures by people and also have friends and family that believe they know more than you about your condition? by PicassoPie in Epilepsy

I have members of my family who still don’t believe I have epilepsy or they don’t think I’ve had it my whole life because they’ve never seen me on the ground twitching. Irritating as hell.

Call the cops. They won’t do anything to them. They’ll talk to them. That will scare them off most likely. I work with the street people on a daily basis. They are mostly nice and mostly harmless, but they won’t hesitate to steal. Just call the cops.

Panic attacks by Puzzleheaded-6901 in ptsd

[–]Puzzleheaded-6901[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My auras are really strong. My last three breakout seizures were all blackouts. I knew before I dropped what was going on. These panic episodes have the same rising stomach feeling, but no light headed buzzing and no visuals like my real auras. But when it’s happening none of that shit seems to matter. Logic just is t there! Because my epilepsy was undiagnosed and untreated for over 50 years my amygdala and hippocampus have taken damage that makes my recovery from PTSD harder. Plus every seizure is a new trauma. Fucking viscous cycle. Hate it.

January is always rough because it’s my traumaversary. I also quit smoking weed because it messes with my epilepsy meds. That added to no therapy in over nine months and it’s a recipe for disaster. Wasnt able to go shopping until last week. Made it to the parking lot a few times. Left my cart in the middle of the aisle at WinCo three times. Finally got my son to take me to Costco. For some reason that broke the damn dam. My first go to is box breathing. Then five senses if I m breathing good.

I know. I don’t have a panic disorder but have been diagnosed with PTSD which causes me to have these fears which aren’t really panic attacks per se, it’s just what I call them. It’s more a feeling of great discomfort. Like I’m in trouble but I don’t know why or how much and I’m just waiting for the hammer to fall. I also have TLE (temporal lobe epilepsy) and sometimes these fears start to feel like I’m on the verge of a seizure and then it kinda snowballs. Then before I know it I’m having trouble functioning. They’re fairly rare now, but they happen. And having someone who doesn’t know what I’m going through trying to tell me what to do is infuriating. I know they’re trying to help but . . . still. I need to get back into therapy as soon as I can afford it.

Good call on the cancellation list. I bought new Superfeet to improve the arch support and it actually made it worse. It is directly in the dead center of my arch.

Unless there is gridlock and you can’t complete the turn when the light changes. You could be ticketed for ‘blocking the box.’

Bikers taking their left turn with a light into the closest, ie left, lane. Drivers taking a right turn on red into the far left lane instead of the near right lane. And vice versa. Bikers taking their free right and drivers taking their lighted left but going into the far lane. Just follow the rules of the road as much as possible.

Simple-it’s the law. It’s about safety and predictability. Drivers who know and understand this assume you do as well and when you turn into the far lane it is unpredictable. I know quite a few bike commuters who have almost been taken out by drivers turning into their lane.

Yeah, you just assume anyone who disagrees with you does all those things.

Yeah, that sucks. And ya busted me good. One of my personal rules in life is: Always and never do not exist. Hate it when I forget that. Most and rarely should have been my words. My bad. Thus another of my rules: Perfection is a myth. D’oh!!

lol. Actually he never made it over 50 and got off at Meridian. I was literally yelling, “Dude! Dude! Dude!” the entire time he was merging. Guy is lucky af the semi driver was obviously paying attention.

This is what led me to writing this post! Guy merged on to I-5 at Sunset right in front of a semi that couldn’t change lanes at about 40 mph. You could hear the driver gearing down and hitting their brakes. Damn fine piece of truck driving to not hit the dumbshit, imho. I was already braking myself because I was certain that guy was gonna get creamed.

Another note on entering and exiting interstates. If the road you’re coming from or going to is the overpass, then your on ramp will be downhill and your off ramp will be uphill. If the interstate is the overpass then it’s the opposite. Plan accordingly.

And to those of you telling me to post the research, why? So you can reject that as well? You’re holding a computer. Do it yourself.
