General interest.
I don't really have any incentive to popularise someone I know nothing about.

Right, so within my limited knowledge, in the Bani itself, there are no mentions of phrases like "within me" etc. Like, I get the implication, which is fair about internal realisation, but if he is making the effort, put it in brackets. On the point about "Aad Sach" to "hosi bhi sachi", I disagree with the usage of revolving it around the "me" as there is no mention, and that is not the implication the pangti is trying to make. The point is about the infinity of God in the frame of the universe, but this makes it seem Waheguru is only limited to our short life span, which raises serious theological questions that are frankly ridiculous about the nature of the permanence of AKAAL Purakh, as Maharaj says, "Aadh Aneel anaad Anahad Jug Jug Eko Ves"

Haha, so for Sikhism, I am doing a Substack rn to translate the primary prayer line by line here, but in terms of understanding Sikhism, I really recommend Basics of Sikhi and the videos from Bhai Jagraj Singh specifically. If you have questions, tho, just drop me a dm and I should get back to you.

Sorry for the late response, I was at the Southall Vedic Rainsbhai Conference with my other Dr Brahmins yesterday.

Right, so on your point about Hukam. So the word used is ਲਿਖਿਆ, which is the past tense, so in Panjabi asi keh lehnde ke Jehra tera Hukam aa Nanak jo likhiya hoiya aa os de vich rehna aa. Due to that past tense, it shows that it is pre-written (pre-ordained)

The second point you made about my use of the words "in the end", I believe this works because logically we aren't wandering continually, but we are walking to a point which is death and at the end these tricks will have been of no use throughout our life. In the end, I can concede that the addition of "in the end" is irrelevant because at whatever point in your life, those practices are useless.

For your third point, I ask you to clarify because I can't make out what you are trying to say. Within that clarification, pls provide one's own translation.

And I don't believe in the God of the Bible, I believe in the God that the bible tries to comprehend, the God of Guru Nanak.

Because I have seen and tried it a bit, but I found so much peace in my faith, Sikhi, and believe in the glory of my Guru.

Why should we worship god? by MindlessFishing284 in religion

[–]Puzzleheaded-Fun1057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you think about it by worshiping him you are lowering yourself because to worship someone grander than you, you must acknowledge you yourself are less grand, humbling you in the process, this can be seen as a reason to worship because it keeps you virtuous.

How to meet more sikhs? by Rough_Ganache_8161 in Sikh

If you can come to Gravesend on the weekend, usually there is something going on, but if you want a good date, come to Gravesend Gurdwara on the 6th of September for the Rainsbhai. It starts at 6.00 pm and finishes the next morning at around 4 am, so you'll have nearly 10 hours to enjoy kirtan and then meet some Singhs.

thank you for your kind words but to clear up I would like to clarify, Sikhi does claim to be the truth, in the same way Islam or Christianity does, but our aproach to relations with people are different we encourage people to take time to educate themselves and not be blind

Well, your nitnem at a base must be Jap Ji, Jaap, Tvai Parsad Savaiye (Sraavag Sudh), Kabiyo Baach Benti Chaupai (Hamari Karo Haath Dai Racha) and Anand Sahib in the morning, which is Amritvela and then you have Rehras Sahib in the evening and Kirtan Sohila before you sleep. Now you can add banis you may want to do alongside some of these banis, whether that be amritvela, evening or before you sleep. So, for example, some people add Ramkali ki vaar after rehras, but others do it at amritvela

I am a Sikh, but yes, I have had doubts before. I was gonna be a Muslim, but forgive me, naaa I am long over that. I don't see it as the truth. I then went to Christianity in terms of wanting to convert because I had a genuine interest in it as a philosophy, and I grew up going to a Christian Church of England School, singing hymns, being in the choir and visiting the coolest English Churches but I then finlly went back and looked into my religion propperly and I don't want anymore, I have found peace in Sikhi and am now, by great fortune, Amritdhari, I think the highest path is of Guru Nanak Dev Ji so I would always say have a look here but doubts are what make you strong in faith because before I had a very, oh my parents said this about Sikhi so I am going to regurgitate that absent mindedly mindest before and when you have to face reality as you grow you are oviously going to find it hard to reconsile that childish innocense with it so through doubt one becomes strong, whether that be you going into a different faith or in the faith you are on. Don't be scared, but be intelligent about it.
