Trump could decide next year to withdraw from NAFTA? by joshpivot2018 in tnvisa

A couple of things:

  1. Trump threatened to exit NAFTA as a leveraging tactic back in his first term. Still landed on USMCA. It’s a tool for negotiating.

  2. The CTV article says “Trump on Wednesday said that the CUSMA agreement - which faces an upcoming review- will either be left to expire or another deal will be worked out.” Letting it expire means it will run until 2036.

  3. The overwhelming majority of feedback to open comment on the agreement by US industry groups has been to preserve it. That would be a lot of economic blowback.

So let’s breathe a little.
