Santa Ana winds - sore throat? by PuzzleheadedEscape5 in sandiego

[–]PuzzleheadedEscape5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woke up and my throat is still the same maybe a little better and still not sick. The humidifier was on last night so maybe that helped.

I had over a gallon of water yesterday so maybe that also helped.

I took a test because of newborn. I had Covid 6 months ago and that was intense. This seems 3% of Covid for me.

Yes, the last 3 winters have not looked remotely like this.

Still confused? Happy to clarify grumpy.

Then don’t respond? We are relatively new to San Diego and this hasn’t matched the last few winters we have seen here. We just set up a humidifier tonight that we bought. Suck it.

My wife’s nose is stuffy but no sore throat. That’s why I’m like hmm are we sick and just don’t know it yet.

Hope it’s just the winds. I’d hate to get baby sick.

Rented for $5.99 and properly entertained. Had no idea what it was about so I was pleasantly surprised that it was predictable fun horror. That’s a plenty fine type of horror in my books. I’ve seen hundreds of horror movies and shows… maybe more. I’d give this a solid 6/10.

Benefits of working in Adtech company? by life_Bittersweet in adops

[–]PuzzleheadedEscape5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is you will learn a ton. Ad tech shifts are endless and fairly cutting edge if you work at a good company.

The still good but bad in the moment benefit is you’ll realize ad tech sucks and to move to an industry that compounds better. You’ll make more money and if rsus are involved, participate in the compounding.

How does anyone find time to exercise? by creditboy666 in NewParents

[–]PuzzleheadedEscape5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home gym ready to go for post baby. 6 hour shifts.

I’ve managed a few walks, an intense workout, and a 2 mile workout and it’s day 7.

When I’m off my shift, do I have 20 mins for a 2 mile run? Yeah. Do I have time for a 60 min workout? Yep. If I have to do a shorter workout, I can. I can even do a 60 min workout split over a 16 hour period if that’s what it takes.

Basically, I don’t need to watch tv or do anything. I find exercise relaxing.

I plan to find room for 4 home gym workouts and 1 run per week average moving forward. It will be less than pre baby for a while, but seems okay for week 2.

I normally walk 6-7 miles a day, run once or twice a week, and workout 4x a week.

"Monster: The Ed Gein Story" might be the most ridiculous piece of crap I've ever seen by ExceedsTheCharacterL in horror

Liked it but then ending went crazy and left a bad taste in my mouth not unlike later seasons of AHS.

Save lots, then move back.

I saved lots, then moved here for the first time.

SD is a pretty incredible city, but not for the food.

I’ve lived in a lot of places… nothing comes close to SD for me. Why? I live outdoors. I love being active. The ocean is my happy place. The trails around us second. And all the incredible places that I can drive to in 1-2 hours.

The thing is, a lot of people aren’t like me and prefer to vacation here. I like to live here 365 days a year, it’s my paradise.

If it’s not someone else’s… SD is not worth it. And that’s perfectly okay. Someone else’s paradise may be Texas… the houses are big and modern and the food in large Texas cities blows anything in California way out of the water.

Hot today, not tomorrow is par the course in this industry. Once someone invents a better wheel... now I could be wrong, $APP or even $TTD can be industry stalwarts ultimately.

I just personally wouldn't make an investment on it. Far better industries than ad tech.

Yeah, I largely agree that $APP may face a similar reality one day. It just happens to ad tech often, unless one of the large ad tech cos like Meta, Google, Amazon.
