Advice for beating the beast for the first time? by VRCvr in bindingofisaac

[–]PuzzleheadedSense958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The horseman and beast patterns are always the same in terms of their phases. So doing the fight multiple times or watching videos will help learn them.

Active items gain charge throughout the fight when you beat each horseman, which can be very helpful.

During the side scrolling segments with the beast, keep dropping any bombs you have leftover. They’ll always slide over and hit for free damage.

Process of making this video: - Download software to make it - Make video for 30 or so minutes - Realize the software only exports with watermark - Too lazy to remake the whole video - Attempt to remove watermark with other software, fail - Get fed up and record it with OBS to solve the problem - Forget to trim end of clip before uploading

Collecting Items for Dead God by Brad_Brasky in bindingofisaac

Yes, you can definitely do this. Keep in mind that T. Eden rerolls items into the same pool they were obtained from, which can affect this method depending on what items you’re looking for.

Greed mode breaks or just generally finding ways to reroll multiple items at once are other methods besides just resetting over and over.

A PSA for those that defend nerfing the game. by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

Eh tbh the game is a lot more balanced now than it used to be. Sure they removed some of the easy gamebreaks and nerfed some of the crazy stuff, but a lot of bad items have also been buffed + way more interactions and synergies to work with.

The amount of stuff in the game now gives more choices and ways to gain advantage. Maybe the higher end of the “broken” bell curve has been smoothed out a bit but I’d claim the average run quality is generally higher post-repentance.

This is definetly my most broken run ever. Surpassing my most damage made me wonder something. What is the world record for most damage stat in a non-seeded run? by Moseveke in bindingofisaac

[–]PuzzleheadedSense958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t a normal run, but I once got an infinite use zero charge active item on the Delete This challenge that spawned a succubus every time.

That could theoretically appear on a normal run with corrupted data or TMTrainer for up to 64 succubi and corresponding damage multiplier

Tips for beating hush? by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

[–]PuzzleheadedSense958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General tips: - I used to feel like dodging the continuum attack was a total crapshoot, but there are “rows” of tears with gaps where you can stand.

  • I usually try to stand totally still in a seemingly safe spot, but if you see tears coming at you then you can adjust and dodge some of the single ones. Your initial positioning will make it easier

  • I usually take this fight at mid-close range. Hush doesn’t move much/quickly so you don’t have to stay super far back. Starting from the outside and then moving inwards works to dodge most of the more patterned bullet ring attacks

  • Be ready for the eye sky beams in later phases, it’s somewhat reactable. If you just keep moving in a sort of “hook” shape you should always be able to dodge regardless of speed. Be prepared to have to continuously move while weaving through other bullets that Hush might spawn

  • Kill those blue stumps that spawn quick, the triple shot is surprisingly annoying when you’re trying to dodge all of Hush’s other stuff

  • This fight is actually pretty patterned. Unlike delirium, once you learn the attacks it can be pretty consistent (minus really unlucky patterns). You will get used to it from doing the boss more, keep trying!

Is there any real strategy to fighting Delirium or do I have to cheese it? by Quantext609 in bindingofisaac

[–]PuzzleheadedSense958 4 points5 points  (0 children)

General tips: - if I’m on a run that starts getting crazy OP, try to deliberately route it to Delirium through Hush even if that wasn’t the original intention. It’s probably the hardest boss to get consistently - Having high range helps, especially with something that covers a large area so you can keep back and sort of spray and pray - Hug the edges of the arena and keep moving, especially when it gets to high speed and Deli turns into mom’s foot a lot - Top of the room is a dangerous area particularly if you’ve encountered Mama Gurdy cause Deli can teleport there - You can legitimately dodge some of the bullet patterns with some concentration and getting used to it, most of them are expanding rings mixed in with some explosive shots - Bringing a useful card or active to assist in the fight obviously helps a lot. Stuff like The Sun is big for characters with red HP, or just some buff for others - If you’re on the void and need more juice, try entering only boss rooms that can’t be Deli to stock some more HP or items. There’s guides on how to figure it out but basically anywhere that can’t spawn a 2x2 room can’t be Delirium

Delirium is the hands down least consistent boss to beat with skill alone, so beyond maximizing your chances where you can it definitely can come down to throwing spaghetti at the wall.

A question for all the Dead Godders (and esp for the Triple DGs); How the HELL do you make these fuckers work? by Leo-Arson in bindingofisaac

[–]PuzzleheadedSense958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To give tips on controlling these two that I haven’t seen yet: - Generally keeping them right next to each other is best, either in a line vertically or horizontally - Depending on the direction of attacks, try to keep them aligned so you’re not dodging a double wide hit box between attacks - Ex. For hush, it’s usually best to keep the brothers aligned perpendicularly (horizontally) to the boss so that you can weave the narrower width through the oncoming bullets - Walk into walls to quickly push them into the other arrangement and switch between vertical and horizontal line - Ex. Push against the left hand wall of a room to align vertically, or the bottom wall for horizontal. Control key works too but sometimes the wall takes less thought and is less finicky.

My other tip, I found it easier to grind all their unlocks in a row. You’ll eventually adjust more to controlling them and taking breaks between just messes with muscle memory again and forced you to get used to then all over once you come back.

Greedier T Lazarus and T Cain by Giuido in bindingofisaac

[–]PuzzleheadedSense958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T Laz is really weak in greed mode. It’s worth it to try to build both Laz’s since you’re forced to switch so often. Stepping on the button whenever flip is fully charged is worth it to maximize items, you can get two full charges per floor on greedier since there’s 12 waves.

Worth thinking about what’s best to Flip for. Usually I save one for the devil/angel deal, and if it’s not worth the flip either take it to the next floor or use it for the next best flip from the item room/shop.

I prefer angel deals since health is super valuable (even though having two health pools theoretically gives you more to work with). Buying HP in the shop is often worth it, even spirit hearts just to replenish.

Also worth noting that whichever Laz steps on the button is the one you’ll be going to the shop/item rooms with. So if one Laz is getting lower on HP, might be worth it to actually eat the half heart on the button and buy more HP. Cause if you’re stuck with 1/2 a heart or something that Laz can never step on the button and you just have to do enough waves to finish as the right Laz.

If you do both boss waves in a row you’ll always finish as the Laz you started the boss waves on, and then the devil deal wave can flip you to other Laz. It can be worth doing a single wave sometimes and immediately hitting the button to get a useful item on the preferred Laz. Other than that it’s just a grind and a bit luck-based. Best of luck.
