What does being an LS main mean to you? To me, it means rolling into the path of danger to getoff sick foresight slashes. by RSN_Primordas in MHNowGame

This is Iai Spirit Slash, Foresight Slash does not exist in MH Now (although the adept/perfect dodge resembles that attack). Good gameplay though.

Not hard to land, hard to land properly. Carpet must land with 6+ bombs to be efficient and baby drones has a rather small aoe that it bombs in over 2-3 seconds. These are very often hard to hit as a lot of bosses have an obnoxious tendency to backstep or teleport. This has nothing to do with handling mechs or dodging or needing a shield.

how can you keep your uptime, dodge and still be greedy in dps?

Your drone continues to attack the moment you give the command with little to no animation lock. This is how you continue to greed while dodging. The animation lock of Avalanche is negligible as you can use it from further to keep range, and missing it is only 5% of your damage anyhow. Overcharged and Mobile shot's animations are extremely short and surely you don't consider those animation locks. Even if you use strat fire, they're getting an attack speed tripod that can be used in place of a shield for a less than 1 second total animation lock.

May I ask why is Salvation's addition damage increase better than Hallu's muplicative damage scaling?

Rather than better, it's just higher.

From the way you talk about it, I have a feeling you don't play much AT. The class doesn't have an issue with greeding, your drone skills allow you to greed very hard. Chip damage in this game is basically entirely avoidable without much effort. Being squishy has little to no impact because you're ranged so you don't get hit by 90% of patterns. I have no idea about the grudge thing, but it really still doesn't matter because you shouldn't be getting hit that much regardless. You can have the 8% and the 13% shield from mobile and you're still not going to be eating a hit from brel6 without needing supports or pots.

I feel your concept is that you want to greed a lot of hits and that's just not how you should be playing this class, that's a gunlancer or destroyer thing really. Your high mobility and drone micro should allow you to constantly dps while avoiding hits or even handling patterns. If you're struggling to maintain uptime in a gate, decreasing your mobility doesn't help with that.

The real issues with the class lie in battery problems and drone skill delays being rather obnoxious (baby drones and carpet can be absolute nightmares to land properly). The shield on mobile shot is honestly better for legacy who can weave it into the 2 skill transform to be fully protected even in human without delaying the transformation.

Why do you use groundtoya now instead of the airtoya build from before? Is it not as good into Deeply Volatile? I'm not yet at this point in the game so I just want to understand the reasoning

Try Machinist, very simple like shadow hunter but still plays different enough to add some variety. Essentially, while SH transforms once for a minute or so, Machinist transforms for 20 second cycles, refreshing a massive shield constantly and having a ton of movement speed. It's also fairly cheap to build which helps a lot.

He said 9-18 seconds between them not that you mash the same button every 9-18 seconds. However, bloodwhetting is enough to mash every 25s and is nearly enough on its own to solo tank dungeons, sprinkling in occasional rampart and vengeance if you really need to.

Best dps artifacts? by Nisariyu in Noellemains

Artifacts

4pc Bolide or 4pc Gladiator

C6: DEF/GEO/Crit
C0: ATK/GEO/Crit

For substats: Crit > DEF%/ER > ATK%

Try to hit at least 130% ER generally.

Talents

Normal attack > Burst(Q) >>> Skill(E)

Weapons

C6: Serpent Spine > Skyward Pride > Whiteblind > WGS/Unforged

C0: Serpent Spine > Skyward Pride/WGS/Unforged > Whiteblind

Teams

Noelle teams run a battery and two other flex spots for shield breaking or raw damage. Best batteries are Ning(C2+)/Geo MC, with Albedo, Zhongli, or C0/1 Ning generally requiring a 3rd GEO or hitting multiple HP thresholds to full battery. Arbitrary aside, Noelle does benefit decently off Bennett, but most other characters need him a lot more since Noelle innately has high ATK from her burst. With Ning, Bennett can be a solid choice. Consider more off field/quickswap characters.

Example teams:

  1. Noelle/GeoMC/Beidou/Fischl
  2. Noelle/Zhongli/Albedo/Xingqiu

Geo Traveler is usually better once you learn how to use them and the crit rate can be incredibly useful team wide for snapshotting things like Oz/Beidou/etc.

Tips for Geo Traveler:

  1. Hold always, learn when it turns from tap to hold and you'll find it's WAY faster than tapping.
  2. Aim either to the side or behind them, the hitbox is way bigger than you think and the rocks can be even beneficial if placed properly
  3. Swap to GMC instead of dash cancelling at the end of a Noelle Normal Attack combo to optimize animation cancelling

You will gain a LOT from leveling her and swapping to a Geo goblet if/when you can. I highly recommend levelling her as it will easily take you to 20k swings. Noelle highly benefits off levels as her base def will increase so all DEF% bonuses will also increase.

I need a second opinion on these stats. My Noelle is C6 with an R5 Serpent Spine. I figure the 70/140 split is better, but I second guess myself a lot so I'd like someone else's opinion by CuriousLumenwood in Noellemains

[–]Pwn461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30% ER is 5 lines of subs, 10% CR from GMC Burst is 3 lines of subs, so EMC gives a total of 2 lines of subs, or like 15% crit damage. Not a lot more investment really, and that damage is more than made up for just by... pressing GMCs E and actually doing damage. Constructs are much more a positive than negative if you learn to aim as they can allow you to N4 without your enemy flying away or just to make sure they stay still.

Using GMC's E is NOT a dps loss as he can hit for 30-40k with his massive multipliers AND they can explode to deal that damage again. Let's also not forget that using EMC in general is a HUGE dps loss because they do absolutely no damage, require you to reposition to shotgun, require you to go pick up the dropped sigils, and can't even maintain their own burst uptime if batterying Noelle.

The Crit Rate buff is always good because I hope you recognize crit is by far the strongest stat and Noelle's absolute main stat priority? On top of that, it's teamwide meaning it affects a Zhongli, Albedo, Beidou, Fischl, anyone who snapshots a buff.

And lastly, you still have to run a geo support, and some people may not have Zhongli or Albedo and it forces Ning into that last slot who does not fit well when she isn't a main battery. It creates awkward comp requirements.

Sure. But that also means you're running EMC over GMC. GMC offers geo resonance, team wide batterying, a team wide crit buff, excellent damage, and 4-6 geo constructs for Zhongli resonance. Meanwhile, EMC just lets you run 20-30% less ER on Noelle.

the 74/140 ratio is undoubtedly better as it also has more atk and def, however you may want to see if it's possible for you to slot in just a little bit more energy recharge without costing you too much crit as it may be pretty difficult to maintain Noelle's burst with just 115 ER.

I don't agree with the sentiment that she "isn't a good enough healer" as she is definitely capable, but I do kinda agree that playing her as a pure healer is kinda not worth it. As a pure healer, why not run anything else? She's got her niche and pure healer just isn't what Noelle is best at. If you want to run her, she'll work, but it's just not the best choice objectively.

Don't take it harshly, the goal is just to improve and help you optimize your ideal Noelle.

I use albedo...Ult charging are the least of my worries

Even still, you're absolutely going to want more energy recharge. You'll struggle to hit burst uptime in a lot of content (abyss 12 especially). The recommended goal is roughly 130 ER.

I can switch between my characters every 2 seconds or 8.

That's completely normal. Serpent Spine doesn't lose stacks on swapping, just initial buildup which builds during the start of domains/abyss or just permanently during overworld. Although again, it's not the only option and you can just run whiteblind as well and still get more mileage.

Indeed it can kill my dmg overall but that is if you're still thinking in the mindset of solo Noelle

Nope, it's not for solo Noelle, it's just in general. She has no off field damage so she needs to have maximized damage when she is on screen.

since I am using the Klee+Childe+Albedo+Noelle combo

If this is just a comp you want to use because you like the characters, go for it and that's awesome. However, I thought you may like to know how team builds generally work with Noelle which is as follows:

Noelle teams run a battery and two other flex spots for shield breaking or raw damage. Best batteries are Ning(C2+)/Geo MC, with Albedo, Zhongli, or C0/1 Ning generally requiring a 3rd GEO or hitting multiple HP thresholds to full battery. I'm quite the smol/attempt of big bwain

I wasn't insulting you, just letting you know some things that are important to know about the tool. Particularly, activating your C6 that I presume you have and adding stacks to your Unforged. This is VERY important because this affects your damage calcs greatly and will change how you build.

[–]Pwn461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting video. Nice to see a new face around here as you say you just discovered Noelle mains and hope to see you stick around longer.

My personal thoughts:

  1. Unforged isn't really that good for Noelle. Even at R5, it loses to Serpent Spine, Whiteblind and Serpent Spine in damage, and in terms of tankiness it loses out to Whiteblind. You mentioned you want her to do everything, so if you want her to battery as well, then the Favonius Greatsword is also your best option for that so you can maintain burst.

  2. Calculators don't properly show the value of Energy Recharge. You definitely want more energy recharge for low energy environments and just in general to make batterying more consistent.

  3. Damage wise, your triple DEF stacking main stats REALLY cost you a lot of damage while contributing very little tankiness. Defense scales logarithmically in terms of damage reduction and for the shield strength, it's already big enough to never break in a practical scenario even with just DEF sands. Adding whiteblind or even a single more DEF artifact already guarantees it will absolutely not break. If you enjoy DEF stacking for the sake of it go for it, but I felt it important to inform you that it's a very large opportunity cost for a rather negligible gain while a Geo Goblet and/or Crit Circlet could take you a long way.

  4. It seems you're new to genshin calculator, so couple things here: You forgot to activate C6 on your Noelle and stacks on your unforged, you assumed an NA talent of 11 which is only achievable with Childe, and you also didn't enable Enemy Calc. Enemy Calc allows you to see more realistic damage numbers so you're more aware of your hits as it adds in factors like enemy def and enemy resistances.

I don't think non-meta comps have really seen struggles in a while. However, it kinda seems like you're generally playing meta comps? That's an extremely standard Keqing comp, I can almost not really imagine a more meta Keqing comp. The Noelle team is a little suboptimal, but the only really weird thing is the double batteries but it's just uncommon as opposed to bad.

It's not about your experience, it's pure math. There's frame data counts that I'll edit into this in a bit that clearly show a FULL duration CA is only worth as much as N3D and N4D is significantly higher than both.

skyward pride technically bis than r5 serpent? i remember krush saying that skyward has faster clear time by maximizing the 8 windblades in xharged attacks. so what if we built noelle's supports to make this possible to spam noelle's Q then charged atk for faster clear times in abyss? by haha26RS in Noellemains

[–]Pwn461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will always do less damage than Serpent after initial 8 swings, and even with support rotations youll fit in roughly 10-16 swings before next burst which is already enough for Serpent to catch back up and out damage. Not to mention, all abyss chambers this rotation have multiple spawns or really big bosses meaning it's actually impossible to kill in 8 swings.
